Stayed here last week for four nights and was disappointed to say the least. Checkin was uneventful and fairly pleasant and the desk staff were decent and only gave us attitude when trying to exchange currency. The guys working the lobby and helping with ski storage every day were very pleasant and genuinely helpful. The rooms are plain, and low budget...I guess like you'd expect for a Best Western hotel. Parking was underground and more than ample, even for our large SUV. I had multiple towels in the room and also in the spa area that had foot long black hair on them (NOT MINE), and also found this in the bathroom floor, and bath tub on arrival. Nice. Also, the shower curtain in the room smelled so badly of mildew it made it hard to shower and literally you could smell it throughout the hotel room after showering. The beds are overly firm, and the pillows are all foam rubber, not the nice feather / down that you get in most of the other hotels in the area. There is no in room entertainment system, just basic cable. Breakfast was included for free....and that's what its worth. Its your basic cheap hotel chain food consisting of processed, pre-packaged type pastries, bagels, yogurt, bananas, and juice / coffee. Poor quality. You're much better off going 150 feet away into the village to eat breakfast at the Hot Buns bakery or at Starbucks. The hot tub is indoors in a small room and seats about 8 people comfortably. There are no robes in your room, so you get to walk through the main lobby in your swimwear to get to the hot tub and sauna area. The upside is that if your lucky the towel you get in the sauna area has about a 50% chance of having someone else's hair all over it!! The hotel is about a 300 foot walk to the village square, and about 1.5-2 blocks walk to the slopes and gondolas for both mountains. I think we paid about $189 plus tax per night. Parking was around $20-22 per night. Not too terrible for the area. Was it quiet...yes for the most part. But I would so gladly pay a little more to stay somewhere cleaner, closer, and with a few more amenities and better service. I will never be staying here again on a return to Whistler after so many years of good stays at the Fairmont, Westin, Pan Pacific, etc.... Yes they are on a whole different level and not quite "budget" like this, but there is truly a difference. I did not include pictures...imagine a Best Western anywhere and thats what it looks like. If we could include smells in our reviews, I'd have included the nice mildew smell for all to enjoy.
