Four of us went to Stage Wine Bar last fall, on a Saturday evening. We arrived just before 5:30, and sat at the back of the restaurant. My husband and I have been there a couple of times before, and absolutely love the food. The food is not the problem. The place was a little less than half full, and within a few minutes of us arriving, the music was cranked up. I asked our server if it could be turned down a bit, but she explained that (don't remember the name) likes to have it loud to contribute to the vibe etc. I said, really? I can't hear our friends sitting across the table about 2 feet away, how does that contribute to the vibe? Plus, it's all concrete, brick, hard surfaces, so no sound is absorbed. I pretty much sat with 3 other people for an amazing dinner and could not hear a word anyone said. It was so frustrating!!! I can understand as the evening goes on and folks get a little more rowdy, then the music can be louder. But, as I looked around this Saturday night, there were a lot of gray-haired folks like us, who did not seem to be doing a lot of talking.
