lovely place to visit. Calm and serene. If you love gardening - you must visit.
Small but extremely well kept.
easy access by Public Transit.
Wanted to order the high tea ($37.50) per person.
When asked if we cold share - but order a second tea - the cost would be $12.50
no thank you.

The gardens are a tiered area with fauna and plants carefully looked after. It is out of the way and a delight to walk through

This is a small garden, but it is impeccably maintained and lovely in all seasons. Also a lovely spot to have tea or lunch.

Abkhazi Garden is a great garden for people who love gardening or are thinking of designing a garden in an inhospitable location. If you're looking for an outstanding flower garden this isn't the garden for you.

The gardens have a very interesting history having been bought and developed by Prince and Princess Abkhazi in 1946 after being released from prison of war camps. The gardens are on a very rock granite outcropping where the soil is likely very thin. Yet they made a lovely tree and foliage garden complete with lily ponds. Most people would have dismissed the site as being unsuitable for a garden, but the Prince and Princess clearly had a vision.

First let me admit, I'm a plantaholic, I love all things related to gardening, am a Master gardener and an all round Plant Geek.
This is a "to die for" garden, situated on a granite outcropping, an inhospitable area to try and establish a garden in the first place, but a beautiful challenge for a real gardener.
Don't come here expecting a "Butchart Garden" experience, this is a real garden, lovingly maintained, and with an incredible story behind it.
Highly recommended for my fellow garden geeks, you will not be disappointed.

(I've seen it in winter, spring and summer, need to visit in the autumn)
