We were in town on business and our host took us to his favorite place, Giardino. It was absolutely incredible.
We arrived about 30 minutes early so we sat in the bar and had a nice glass of wine. Nice bar, nice server.
When we were seated the owner Umberto Menghi came over and introduced himself, welsoming us to his restaurant. It was a nice touch.
My sod lived in Italy for eight years and we visited at least once a year dring that time. This felt like we were back in Italy. They started with Dardinian flat bread that was excellent. We ordered some excellent wind and the dinner began.
I started with the Heart of Baby Romaine Wedges Caesar Dressing & Herb, and Garlic Croutons. It was amazing, served with the fill leave, i was trying to eat the bitter stalk because the dressing and cheese were so incredible. AMAZING.
Fresh bread was served - excellent.
I ordered the Seared Jumbo Alaskan Scallops with Sunchoke Puree, and Shellfish Broth. They were perfectly cooked, seared brown exterior, tender inside surrounded by an amazing puree/broth. WOW.
The locals ate the Hand-Cut Grilled Provimi Veal Chop served with Pommes Lyonnais & Shallot Jus. It's their regular dish, so it must be excellent.
I was enjoying the meal and conversation too much to notice what everyone else ate. We all agreed the meal was fantastic.
I hope to return again soon. This is a very special place.
