Wanted to get some dim-sum and looked to China town. Reasonable menu, Hong-Kong style, but small in comparison to the size of the hall. Weekend fare was fresh, warm, and tasty, straight from the kitchen, We enjoyed it well enough to return during the week. Very tasty both times. Would have liked the carts (which gave way to a check off menu), and a larger assortment of steamed fare. But the chives and shrimp as well as the shrimp and chives were excellent (steamed and fried respectively) as were the other choices such as as the shrimp stuffed eggplant. The regular menu also large offered large portions. The entire experience felt like an authentic Hong-Kong yum-cha restaurant; very enjoyable, and we returned twice on this trip

We were seated immediately as this restaurant in Vancouver’s historic Chinatown is the city’s largest restaurant located right near a Hop-On, Hop-Off Trolley stop. In addition to their Chinese-English menu, they had a Dim Sum picture menu which made it easy to order. Tea was served as soon as we sat down. Strictly a CHOPSTICKS-only kind of place without any fortune cookies. A fun experience for sure.

We took our family to the Cirque du Soleil show which was absolutely amazing. Good thing because it went downhill after that. We took our family of 6 to the Floata restaurant for dinner. It came one dish at a time, rice being the last!! Every dish was lukewarm. The sweet & sour pork we ordered for the kids, they wouldn't even eat it. All tiny balls of dough. The lemon chicken was disgusting, cold & mushy with a thin piece of chicken. No chicken flavour, just dough. The beef and broccoli was good but only warm. The bill was very expensive for very, very poor food. Not return

Today I met friends at the “Floata Seafood Restaurant” for Dim Sum. This restaurant is huge, divided in three different halls. And even such a hall is quite large. We ordered Shrimp Dumplings, Pork Shiu Mai, Sticky Rice in Wrap, Steamed Spareribs & Pumpkin, Bean Curd Skin Rolls with Pork Meat, Chicken Feet in Black Bean Sauce, Rice Roll with Shrimp, Pan Fried Rice Roll with Soya, Deep Fried Squid and Dried Shrimp with Gai Choy. All items tasted good and were prepared fresh. The Shiu Mai were even still so hot that I burnt my tongue. My friend agreed that the food was better than in the restaurant we visited the day before. The only issue was probably resulting from the large room: At one point we had two order lists at our table and got several items delivered to us that we didn’t order – a sign that the servers got confused sometimes assumingly due to the large number of tables in the room.
Nevertheless, this restaurant is not bad and the prices are reasonable.

My family and I come from Hong Kong, and it was our first time having dim sum in Vancouver! All dim sum are cooked perfectly and even better than we have in our hometown! steamed ribs is the best, fresh and tender! Very Impressive and out of expectation!

Service is wonderful, staffs are friendly n helpful!
