My family and I stayed at The Secret Garden when we visited Vancouver this past August. My husband and I had lived in the city before so we knew we wanted to stay in a neighbourhood and not have a downtown hotel experience. This spot was perfectly located in a lovely neighbourhood within walking distance of great restaurants and shops - and a short drive (or bus ride) to all of our favourite attractions and the beaches.
Our host Noo Noo was very welcoming and accommodating. Her rental was absolutely perfect for our family of 4 - very spacious and beautifully decorated. Our favourite part was the very cozy outdoor seating area with BBQ.
We loved our stay at The Secret Garden and would most definitely go back!
After a 23 day cruise we were looking for a place we could relax in and get out and explore Vancouver, this house fitted the bill exactly.
The house has all the amenities that you could want plus a few you didn’t think off, sauna, barbecue in a fantastic garden setting.
There is ample street parking I parked straight out side at the front of house for the ten days we were there.
Five minutes walk and you are at the tram stop on Dunbar Street for the No.7 , which takes you straight into the hart of the city but also connects you to the rest of public transport system. Vancouver has a great public transport system which is cheap and easy to use.
If you are new to city go to tourist information centre and get all the information on the system.
There are a number of restaurant with in 15 minuets walk of the house on Dunbar Street.
The is a great nature reserve at bottom of street easy entrance is off 33rd Street, a number of different tracks you can walk along in a pine forest. We did a walk here every morning before breakfast.
We had a great stay at NooNoos apartment. We stayed 3 nights and it was great. We enjoyed the sauna and great location of the apartment a lot. Would go again!
We booked after reading all the good reviews. Trust them!
Noo-Noo has converted her basement into a luxury two-bed apartment that wants for nothing. The location is a good class residential area, quiet, yet only a $28 dollar taxi ride from the airport.
You arrive after a long winter's journey, open the door and the effect of what happens next is worth describing! Easy music is softly playing. There are flames in the gas stove and the place is warm, immaculately clean and sweet smelling and you go "aaah". The effects of the journey instantly begin to dissipate. After a glass of wine, they are gone!
I don't know why anyone would opt for a hotel room when you can have your own "home" complete with private sauna!
Would we return? In a heartbeat! Mind you we did tell Noo-Noo she should be charging more for what she is providing!
Thanks Noo-Noo we enjoyed your company your home and wish you well with your pet!
What a great place to start off mine and my mum's Canadian Adventure.
This pad has everything you need for a self catering break and I highly recommend.
Great location, once you get to grips with the local buses!
It was a home from home with lovely NooNoo as host. Anything you need? Just ask.
Thanks for a lovely stay and for your help with the suitcase!! The rest of our trip was great, especially around the Rockies.
