A small, British architecturally inspired dream inn , surrounded by modern apartment complexes, so settling there is like pleasantly venturing into an oasis of a softer past era. A perfect place to unwind after trekking and exploring Vancouver and environs all day long. The interior design draws you into the feel of an actual home. One that might have been decorated by a loving grandmother or a caring aunt. Rooms exude smells of familiar comfort, steps taken on sometimes squeaky floors give way to pleasant nostalgic associations connecting you with a time period you may yearn for. The place is not fake nor pretentious. You breakfast in an inviting dining room with a table set for royalty. Intoxicating food is set before you with a chef's creative flair. You hesitate to bite into its appealing appearance lest the taste disappoint you. But it does not. The entire eating experience entices and entreats you to enjoy slowly, thoughtfully, mindfully. You might feel as if you are the center of attention in a radiant oil painting. Stay at English Bay Inn if you desire charming beauty in a romantic setting

With two couples visiting we decided on the apartment which is on the lower level of the house. The home is very clean and centrally located just a short walk to the beach, Stanley Park and some great restaurants. The apartment has two bedrooms with access to the rear bedroom through the other so it pays to be friendly with your other travellers. The bathroom sits in between the two. The rear yard is pleasant and was ideal for a few drinks as the sun went down. Make sure to book early so you can gain access to one of the three available carpark spots.

Room Tip: The apartment has quite low ceilings so an upstairs room may suit if you are tall, otherwise duck.

This hotel is in a great location, close to the beach and Stanley park only a five minute walk away. It also has a few parking spaces.
Jacob prepared the most outstanding breakfast for us each day, always something different and the detail to attention was beyond our expectation. All the staff were really lovely, very helpful and we felt very happy to stay there.
My only disappointment was our room was very small , but the bed was comfy.
I felt the location was worth having less space and would recommend this guest house to others.
Thank you for a lovely stay.

Staying at the Inn was a wonderful experience. We stayed for 4 nights. The breakfast was exceptionally prepared and provided a new dish to try each day. The portions were large. The staff were very friendly, professional and attended to all our requests. The Inn is kept very clean. The rooms are clean, comfortable and feels like staying at home, not at a hotel. The location is strategically located as its close to all service centres and vacation locations, we walked to most places and had public transit close by if needed.
My only concern would be the squeaky bed!
I highly recommend the Inn and plan to stay there again, kudos to Alberto and his team.

We rented the basement apartment for a couple of days and were really pleased with how comfortable and homy it was. It´s small though, so max 3 people or perfect for a couple. Since it was the basement, and it was an old house, it could get noisy, but we didn't mind it that much. It was close to shops and the Park.
