“Modern hotel with great views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2012

We stayed here for 5 nights on our honeymoon and were upgraded to a one bedroom suite on the 25th floor which was hhhuugggee! With a balcony. It had great views and loads of space and very clean.
The hotel isnt pretty on the outside (think lots of yellowish concrete) but inside is lovely. It has a coffee shop in the lobby which is convenient and a nice restaurant (which we were given a $20 off voucher for).
The pool and steam room is in the basement and felt like it! I used the steam room once as had a sore chest and thought it would help, but the pool has a low ceiling and not very pretty.
The staff were very helpful, especially the bell boys who helped us out with cases and changing on our last day.
Its a good 15 minute walk to the harbour front however the distance to Robson street shopping and restaurants is fab - so just think about where you want to be.
We didnt have breakfast here so cant comment on that. And were disappointed that free wifi was only available in the lobby. Better than nothing but why not in the rooms???
The only downside was sleeping. It is a very noisy city in general, however the rooms on side of the hotel away from the harbour front were next to the local hospital which meant sirens all night! And a number of patients screaming outside in the early hours of the morning. Bring earplugs and you'll be fine!

We stayed here before and after a cruise to Alaska. The rooms are huge with kitchen facilities for a longer stay. There were views from both rooms we stayed in. NOT double glazed so even on 22nd floor the traffic noise could be heard. Spotlessly clean, and very comfortable bed. The laundry on floor 5 needed some TLC, but was cheap and efficient.
Sadly, the restaurant was not up to standard. Service was very slow at breakfast and even slower in the evening, although they were not busy at all. We got the impression that the chef was very inexperienced but was trying to produce meals like on the cookery programmes on TV! The pizza was thick, doughy and cold, not thin, crispy and sizzling. The mashed potato was lumpy and undercooked. After, we took breakfast in the little cafe streetside. Excellent.

Room Tip: the hotel is so tall, all rooms should have a good view.

Dear Kirsten,

Thank you for your kind review! We're glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to seeing you again in the future! Thank you for pointing out the inconsistencies you experienced in our restaurant. I have passed along your feedback to our food and beverage director who will be reviewing with our experienced, executive chef and his team. We pride ourselves on the exceptional level of service and quality normally provide throughout our hotel and it's comments like these that enable us to keep that consistency.

Best regards,
Marshall

We stayed here 5 nights, the rooms were very clean and spacious, loved the kitchen as we were very close to the market place and used the kitchen every day for breakfast and diner. Saved so much as Canada is very expensive. The staff were very helpful and friendly. No free Internet in room but able to access it in the lobby. Would stay here again if in Vancouver.

Stayed two nights for business. Hotel is about 10 mi utes to the downtown core ( took the sky train in and to the blurred station - it's 5 mins from there.. Free paper and apples at the front plus a $20 dinner coupon for the hotel restaurant (didn't use it though). Wifi is $10 for 24 hrs (signal wasnt that good) and there's no gym ( just a pool/spa). There is a YMCA down the street but costs $15/day.

Room is very spacious with a couch and kitchenette. Room looked a little worn and the furnishings were dated and it had an old tube tv. Bed was a bit hard too.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay but if you plan to use the net and workout you might get equal or better value at another hotel given the additional charges.

We spent 6 nights at the Century Plaza Hotel and it proved to be a great spot to stay and enjoy the city aspect of our trip to B.C. This hotel is centrally placed to explore Vancouver and getting around is really easy without a car.

We were lucky to stay on the 26th floor; the executive suite was very clean and comfortable. The suite was spacious and well equipped. We had excellent city and landscape views from our suite.

We spent a nice teatime sampling Canadian beer in the bar, followed by a tasteful supper.

All the staff were courteous and professional; nothing is too much trouble to ensure you gain the maximum from your stay.

We would thoroughly recommend a stay at this hotel.
