My desire was a simple budget room for the night. Riviera City Centre Inn fill the bill nicely. As an older style outside entrance motel, it was clean and basic. Fixtures and furnishings were older and worn, but clean and functional. It was a modestly prices stay where I felt safe, secure and welcome.

My title says it all. :) they do offer breakfast for stay in guest, which you can choose 3 items from the given menu (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cereals with milk, assorted bagels, 2 slices of toast bread, English muffin or assorted muffin). If need extra, guest may order other foods eg pancakes etc. Overall, the staff are friendly and no problem to stay in again. However I may suggest to not letting guest to smoke within the hotel property (including the corridor).

Thank you for your review wennitiong. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and the offered breakfast. The property does require all guests to be at least 3 meters away from all windows and doors for smoking, which is enforced through our $250 non-smoking policy. I will pass along your comments to the rest of the team here as well, and we look forward to being able to accommodate you again in the future.

Have stayed at the Riviera City Centre Inn a number of times. It's not the smartest but it's clean and we had a comfortable night's sleep which is the main thing. A nice addition this time is the free continental breakfast (or a credit towards a cooked breakfast) at Yolks, the cafe attached to the hotel. We used the credit and had a very good breakfast there.

Overall, this isn't the worst hotel/motel I've stayed in. My fiance, our two friends, and I traveled up from Vancouver for a funeral and the four of us shared a suite here.

Pros:
- The breakfast/lunch diner was surprisingly good! My fiance's eggs were a little overcooked but the food was otherwise good. The hotel gave us vouchers for breakfast that could be used to select three items from a small continental menu (muffins, fruit, etc), or you could use the voucher at the diner as a coupon worth $4.75 on the regular menu, which is what we did. Not exactly free, but the prices were very fair.
- The wifi signal was strong and consistent.
- There was lots of space in our suite.
- The hotel staff was friendly (especially the manager that checked us out of the hotel).

The cons:
- More of a problem with Expedia (who we booked through). When we booked we had listed 4 adults in the reservation, but the hotel only had received confirmation of 2. So when the 4 of us got to the hotel they were able to add our two "extra" guests, but we had to pay extra for each person. It wasn't a lot of money, but still inconvenient when travelling on a strict budget.
- The carpets in the hotel all need to be replaced ASAP. They were all horribly stained, threadbare, and they absolutely reeked. The carpet in our room smelled so bad it became stifling, and in a room where none of the windows open and three of us have asthma, it wasn't great to breathe.
- The furniture in the room was damaged and threadbare, and should be replaced.
- The beds were super uncomfortable. Like, if you have a back problem, find a different hotel. If you can't function on less than 3 hours of sleep and you need a comfy bed to sleep on, find a different hotel. All of us barely slept a wink because the beds in combination with the smell and lack of airflow kept us awake.
- There is a serious lack of safe parking for this hotel. Each night the parking lot was packed full, and we were told to park in a seriously sketchy alley behind the hotel. If people are going to have to park back there, there should be more than one security light.
- Our room had a window that faced a brick wall. Not really something that the hotel can control I guess, but it just struck us as odd.
- None of the windows can be opened. The only form of airflow we had was the rickety old air conditioner that sounded like a semi truck.

Basically, we would stay again if this place got a much-needed face-lift.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We are in the process of doing our seasonal deep clean to catch up with the busy Summer Season's wear on the property - between tourists, tree planters, evacuees, and firefighters the rooms did see a lot of traffic and abuse. The windows are design holdover, from when the architects believed the best way to keep the smell from the mills in Prince George out of the rooms was to seal the rooms up. We do have the wall-mounted fan/AC to circulate the air in the room as it is the best solution available at the moment. That also extends to the window facing the brick wall in the suite - the building next to us was put up long after the inn was built. The entire property, including the back parking lot, is fully monitored by our CCTV system and we have staff on-site 24 hours a day to ensure that issues do not arise.

Should you pass through Prince George again I hope you stop in again to say hello and see how the rooms are looking, and we hope to be able to accommodate you again.

"Rooms are clean, staff are courteous and friendly. We always stay here while traveling back and forth to Prince Rupert. The place is okay as a no frills type of accommodation. It costs me $87.06 (taxes inc.) for a double room which includes a coupon for a bit of a continental breakfast. ( select 3 items from a continental breakfast menu or as a credit of $4.75 towards any other item on the restaurant menu,) There you go. Across the street is a Tim Horton's which is also great. Place is in City Center area which poses a bit of a problem especially at night. we had no trouble. One thing I noticed was the regular name change that goes on with this place. Again its a clean no frills place.

Thank you for your review firechief-JL. I am glad you enjoyed your recent stay, and that you had the opportunity to sample the next door restaurant's breakfast offerings. We do recognize some of the difficulties of being located downtown, and do our best through our camera system and staffing to ensure that no disruptions come to our guest's stays. We look forward to being able to accommodate you again for your next trip to Prince George.
