Recently went there for lunch. Wonderful atmosphere and great food choices. They have a few "half dishes" on the menu if you aren't a big eater. The only negative was that we had to order at the bar and had to wait quite a while to place our order because there was only one person tending bar. The food was delicious and portions were generous.

The Fox and Hounds is now closed but was never very good--expensive and mediocre. The location has re-opened as yet another fake Brit gastro-pub, whatever that might be...

Worst menu, trying way too hard to please everybody but really pleases nobody but the local drunkards. Would never return. Even if big signs out front announced "NEW MANAGEMENT" or "NEW OWNERS" or "NEW CHEF".

Sucks and sucks big...

Can't do business with a clown that thinks this is a place to meet. Maybe he thought he'd look better taking me to the dregs of society?

Just got off the ferry and wanted to find a pub to eat at. This pub was recommended on trip advisor and I'm very please to say it was very good. Loved the way the pub was decorated and that they converted an old house to make a quaint little pub. The batter on the fish was a nice changed from the usually thick batter used for fish & chips. Glad we stopped and found a place with good eats and some decent dark beer to enjoy with our food.

Went here with my wife, based on local recommendations. Even though we knew the address, this place was easy to miss - unless you knew about the English red Telephone Box outside. From the front it just looks like a normal house, but there is a small car parking area at the back and a small outdoor patio area to one side. We entered via the car park side door. For a Wednesday evening at 7.30pm it was virtually empty. The indoor décor is classic traditional pub, with lots of small rooms and a central bar area. The menu is written on one of the doors in the main bar area. There is an excellent selection of beers. We both had the seafood pie, which was very good.
By the time we had finished, we were the only people left, so we had a good chat with the barmaid.
Definitely recommend this pub for nostalgic English people!
