Booked this B&B some months earlier and stayed just the one night in early September en route to Banff. The location is on the fringe of the town some 10-15 minutes drive but the route is quite pretty with views of the lake, beach and grass surrounds. In fact the day we arrived was quite warm so there were plenty of people around the water. The home is on a new estate high up on the slopes. External impressions were good.
The welcome was friendly and clearly the hostess/host are social, caring and seem to be ideally suited to their role.Upstairs there are 3 rooms (the house was purpose built with a B&B in mind) with impressive decor, fittings, colour scheme and ensuites. Furnishings look and feel good - 2 beds, plenty of space, large bathroom and good lighting. There is also a guests community lounge room plus balcony with views. You can also use the groundfloor deck area. Special mention should be made of the gardens which are colourful, neat and varied with manicured lawns. This is obviously a home with beautiful high quality presentation.
Breakfast was discussed the evening prior and made to suit with a good selection of continental plus hot foods and with timing to suit.
Sorry but I could not find a negative.
Yes this is definitely highly recommended both from a physical and personal bases. We thought it was excellent value and made us wish we had stayed longer.
NB - Diane has been waiting on a hip operation so she has been reluctant to take bookings until she is back on deck. Check first.
