The Glacier View Inn
Reviewed 8 September 2017

This place was wonderful. The staff were excellent, very friendly and accommodating. Friends had the glacier view room and we were so jealous. The buffer dinner was really good and we all are our fill. Breakfast next morning was then a total let down, normal sort of offering, but no toast !! And all for $21 pp,captured audience, a no where else to go. They ran out and people after us ,had to wait for more to come out, which did. The location was great and we were first up on the glacier which we would not have been had we driven down from Jasper that morning.

Room Tip: Ask for glacier view room!!

The glacier view inn is not as advertised!
First we had trouble finding any parking and even finding the hotel entrance thru the hords of tourists . There is no designated parking and you have to hike your luggage in. The room views of glacier are subpar for a hotel advertising glacier views, you get a tiny window .
The sink and shower didn't drain in our room.
The hotel that charges 300+ nightly apparently ran out of coffee so we couldn't even have our cup of joe in the morning.
The website is misleading about the restaurant offering a la carte options.During our stay they only offered the expensive buffet (breakfast and dinner)We felt swindled for the money we paid .
Not to forget that the staff were not the friendliest ....

Hi JEREMY T,

Thanks for taking the time to email us about your recent experience at our property.
We are sorry that you didn’t enjoy your stay with us. Yes, the hotel was out of coffee for 1 day and we did offer free unlimited coffee from the restaurant all day long for the hotel guest. We are currently looking at improving the rooms and amenities that we offer to our guests in the next 2 years plan. We have just remodel the 2nd floor this season with a brand new cafeteria and restaurant. Because of our remote location, and the number of months that we are open, we are doing renovation small pieces at the time. We are aware that the hotel needs to be remodel and are planning to do it. Concerning the menu offer at the restaurant, we will look after the menu that is online to make sure he does represent what we are offering. We are sorry if that didn’t represent what the restaurant is offering. The menu isn’t fix and they have night with buffet only and other night are with a menu a la carte only. Due, to comments from our guests, they switch to a breakfast buffet option in the restaurant for a fastest, same price range and with more option menu. You can still order breakfast sandwich, fruits, muffin etc.. from the cafeteria if you don’t want the buffet. We do have parking for our guest and it’s the closest to the building that it can be. Guests can drop of their luggage’s directly when the hotel lobby is before and after tours as for your safety.
Again thanks for taking to write a review.

Kind regards,

Karolane Delisle

Nice place to stay, amazing views. This is all it has going for it. Unclear signs for the glacier view check in. Totally chaotic. Got to room, good that there is a second level.
Forced to eat at the altitude restaurant, no where advertises the buffet option. Unless you are right outside altitude. It's $42 +tax each...not great when the nearest town is Jasper...they have a captive audience if you stay here so bring your own sandwiches for dinner/supper.

This hotel is very good, clean and in a great location for the columbia ice fields and sky walk.
We at the restaurant for buffet dinner which was good. We also had breakfast there which was probably one of the worst buffet breakfast i have ever had. No toast or cereal and the rest of it looked like over cooked left overs from the night before.

Hi toniturchi,
Thank you for your review and the positive feedback of our staff, dining and Skywalk. Unfortunately, due to the high flow of buses during the day, guests are not able to drive vehicles to the hotel drop-off area, however this is available in the mornings and evenings before and after tours, and we are able to make other arrangements during the day for special circumstances such as disabled guests for whom the distance between the hotel and carpark is too far, such as a shuttle driven by one of our staff members. If visiting us again, please be sure to ask our friendly staff for any accommodations that need to be made.

Kind regards,

Karolane Delisle
