I have golfed at almost every course in Edmonton, even a few of the private courses. River Ridge is a fairly good value for your money as compared to many other courses in Edmonton. The course is set along the North Saskatchewan River valley, so it is very scenic. Given its location, your chance of encountering wildlife (beavers, deer, elk, etc) here is fairly high.

The carts are not always well maintained. Three times in the last two years I have had carts die on us, however the staff was fairly quick to shuttle out new carts. Howver, this may be a case of not charging them regularily.

The course is typically kept in amazing condition. The fairways and greens are typically in really good shape. The practice facilities are decent as well. There is a practice putting green, driving range (shooting into the water is always fun), seperate practice chipping green and practice bunker.

The clubhouse is not spectacular, but they do serve tasty food. You won't see beverage cart staff out on the course all that often so stock up on whatever you require before-hand or at the turn.

The front nine is much more interesting than the back nine. There is a good mix of water and sand on the front, but not many hazards on the back nine. I have spotted marshals out here from time to time. This course definately plays faster than most of the city courses as it doesn't get quite as busy.

Nice course and easy to get to. Booked for dusk play arrived and was greeted by staff who were friendly and helpful. Rates were competitive. Course in good shape and carts well maintained. Offers a driving range and chipping area along with restaurant at clubhouse. Prices in pro shope competitive and good selection. Liked this course a lot.
