Went to celebrate a family birthday and was entirely happy with the experience. Though it bills itself as a Spanish restaurant it really is Central American--El Salvadoran I think. Excellent food in ample quantities. Fairly prompt and definitely friendly service. Wine and beer available.
Will visit again.

Is located on 118 Ave & 87 Street just across from the Handy (Portuguese) Bakery; there is some angle street parking right in front of the restaurant.

This is a small (maybe 20 tables) restaurant that serves a variety of Mexican and Salvadorean food. The inside décor is very nice (the washrooms are single stall) and service was good, not fast, but worth the wait for fresh food.

We (3) tried the Flautas Mexicanas (3 chicken Flautas for $8) and the Camarones (Shrimp) a la Plancha.

The Flautas had a tasty chicken filling and a very (hard) crispy coating, it was served with a fresh salad. I prefer the coating to be less hard on Flautas but they were good (for a light lunch or as an appetizer).

The Shrimp was spiced (but not spicy), served with a salad and a tasty mango salsa for $13.25.

For the first visit we rated this restaurant as Average but we will give it another try, as the entrees on the menu looked good. It was nice to find another place in Edmonton serving Spanish food.

I have been here many times since it opened, and it keeps on getting better. They have great pupusas, and quesadillas. Lots of vegetarian options. The service is good now. It wasn't the best when it first opened.

Prices are very affordable and food is good. This is a nice stop for a casual lunch or dinner.

On our third visit to this little out of the way spot, we happened upon a celebration of their 13th anniversary as a business. We were swept up in the celebration and made to feel right at home. The food was very good as well!

This is why I think this restaurants sucks.

When I went in there the first time, the prices were not so bad, waiting very long, costumer service very poor, food not too bad.

Second time, all of the above, but the waitress add a notch up to the bad costumer service. She was flirting and hitting at my boyfriend.

Third time we went there, all of the above, plus the fact that it was mid November, we were freezing, we asked the waiter what was happening with the heat, and she came back to as and told us the gee, the landlord had not put the heating yet, and therefore, we had the wear our winter gear to keep warm.

So, we quit going there all together.

But one day, my co-workers and me, decided to go out for dinner and someone on the group had heard about the place, and suggested it to all us.

I didn’t say much at the moment because it was years after my bad experience with that restaurant, and I know that as people can change sometimes, so can business improve as well by the hard lessons of not having costumers.

This time, not flirting with boyfriends because there were not boys with us lol. But boy, was it ever a disaster. Some of my colleges, had to sit and watch the others have their meals while they were waiting for their food for up to one hour.

They were so disgusted by the service, the wait, the food quality, the atmosphere, and the prices.

The whole place smelled off greed and negativity all together.

So, I have concluded that as much as I like to support local and small restaurants run by the family members, and see them succeed, that is one restaurant that does not deserve my hard earn pennies
