We had 2 days in Banff after our Rocky Mountaineer voyage and wished we had booked for longer. The concierge was extremely helpful in booking us a few things to do, suggested which walks, attractions to see etc, and we were not disappointed. We wished we had more time to explore things further out but we will definitely be back again!

Agree with other reviewers who rate this Marriott/Delta property "standard". Our room was conveyed a complementary upgrade, which is similar to a Courtyard unit (with a fireplace). For the price point ($309 + taxes per night) it's reasonable value for money for Banff this time of year - save for service. While the front desk staff are enthusiastic and helpful - on balance - service is peculiarly unsatisfactory.

During our five night stay the room frequently made in the afternoon. A response to a welcome note from the concierge before our stay was never returned. When towels were requested, we were informed they had "run out" but could have ones the cleaners were carrying. Similarly, they had run out of umbrellas.

I am still chasing our rewards points. There was a "wasp in the room" incident I don't think we can hand on them :) Based on this experience, I am inclined to think based on conversations with colleagues there are more central hotel properties available at same or better price in Banff.

Dear Christopher M,

Thank you for taking the time to write this review.

We are disappointed to know you did not enjoy your stay with us. Allow me to take this opportunity to apologize for the delay in replacing the towels in your room. Please be assured this has been addressed with the Executive Housekeeper who will rectify immediately moving forward as this is definitely not our standard.

Once again, thank you for your feedback.

Sincerely,
Suzanne Gittens
General Manager

We stayed just one night in Banff and being a Marriott Rewards member (status recognized which is not always the case in the US - $10 food voucher offered and welcome gift) opted to stay here. We had a very large room but with no view. The room was fine, not exceptional, but comfortable. We were tired from touring and as it rained we ate in the bar and the food was quite good. We had a tour picking us up early before breakfast opened and they were kind enough to get us some bagels. There is a $15 charge for parking. I found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. The main shops and restaurants are a few blocks from the hotel which is nice as you aren’t in the swarm of tourists. At this price point you would expect an amazing hotel but being Banff the price is inflated and you’ll pay more for this type of hotel here than the comparable standard Marriott . It was perfectly fine for one night.

Nice, upscale room and lodge. Had a gas fireplace to take the chill off, but limited seating with only two chairs (no couch). A few blocks to downtown shopping, but very doable walking distance. In house restaurant was ok.
