After coming back from a full day of sightseeing, we observed the following in our room.

1.) The bathroom wasn't cleaned well (sink, toilet, floor and bathtub).
2.) The contents of garbage containers weren't emptied out or garbage liners weren't replaced.
3.) Carpet wasn't vacuumed well. There were still some dirt found.
4.) The towel set was incomplete.
5.) An extra toilet tissue wasn't provided.

Housekeeping service needs to be improved. The saying, "You get what you pay for" so truly applies.

Our stagette group had a great time staying here! The staff we really friendly and helped us with all our questions around multiple cars to park, breakfast in the morning, pool times, getting extra access cards, checking in early, etc. The pool is heated year round and was really nice! The rooms are older style but very clean and the mattresses have definitely been upgraded - we all had a great sleep! Amenities were all great (room fridge, coffee, balconies, etc) and wifi was strong. Location is a bit further out of central Banff but for a cheaper price it's well worth a quick walk or cab ride! Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Let hotel know if you need to avoid stairs - one stair case is required to access 2nd floor.

The Voyager Inn met my expectations. It is dated and yes the rooms could do with a make over especially the bathrooms, but my main value is cleanliness and the Voyager met my expecations. I also found the property spacious. The coridoors are wide and the downstairs hot tub and pool are spacious also. The included breakfast was quite adequate for me and the staff from reception through to the restaurant were all pleasant and helpful. The bar is like a local bar and I liked that "homely" feel also. The Voyager was reasonably priced and met all my expectations for a budget hotel and I would stay there again

Room Tip: not sure .My room was quiet but the view was of an adjacent hotel, which is quite normal for Banff Avenue

Weekend of March 2-3 Road conditions to Banff were terrible. March 3 there were road warnings and travel not recommended unless necessary all over the province. Specifically the road to Banff was all marked red and had been closed the day before. The Hotel had no sympathy and would do nothing about it, their comment was people seemed to be getting here so tough luck. We did not even want a refund just a credit to come another time, they could have even limited the dates we were willing to work with them . We were just too nervous to take a chance driving that day. Very disappointing to have a hotel to try to force people to drive in unsafe conditions

Room Tip: Dont stay at a hotel like this that has no concern for customer welfare

This is an older hotel and it could use some updates. There is a pretty big indoor hot tub and a heated outdoor pool that is open in winter, too. The hotel is one of the first hotels when you get into Banff, so it is a bit of a walk to get downtown (or take the bus), but it’s a small town, so the walk is only about 15 minutes. The restaurant is very basic, but the food was good and the server was very personable. Breakfast is pretty standard, breads, pastries, toast, cereals, juice, coffee. There is a hot section – eggs, hash browns and sausages. The hotel staff are all fantastic – friendly and very helpful. Our room was small, and there is not much extra space with two queen beds. The bathroom was very dated and really needs an update, but everything functioned and all was clean. The beds were firmer than I like, but the pillows were awesome – nice and big with good neck support for side sleepers. Temperature was an issue – it was way too warm at night to sleep comfortably, and even though we turned down the thermostat (there is a dial on the bottom side, but it is tricky to find) the temperature never did drop. There is no air conditioning in the room, which would have helped us cool the room down. We had to open the patio door to cool the room. Fortunately, it was not too cold, so we could leave it open all night. We are far enough away from downtown that we didn’t get a lot of outside noise, but the hotel itself is rather noisy. We could hear neighbors and people walking down the hallways, and actually quite a few random loud noises we could not identify. The TV worked fine, but I think the remote needed new batteries. The WIFI is VERY slow, but know that if you have a room beside the hotel next door, you can use their WIFI, with the same password as the Voyager. There is a small fridge and microwave, along with coffee making supplies in the room. I did not see a gym, or any place to store skis, but I wasn’t looking for either, so I don’t know if they were there and I just didn’t see them. It’s a budget hotel, and perfectly acceptable for budget travel.
