The cottage was everything I expected. Clean warm and cosy. The owners have gone out of there way to provide everything needed to have a most enjoyable stay.
After getting married at the nearby Beechenhill Farm & Lower damgate farm we were looking forward to a retreat where we could be near the family but have a bit of privacy too but I don't think either of us expected winnow nook.
One of three cottages on the farm, but very much it's own space, the winnow nook is simply stunning. We booked based on trust and word of mouth, as it was being renovated at the time, which you may think risky for a honeymoon but I honestly couldn't have made a better decision.
Downstairs is an open plan kitchen & lounge with dining table, and upstairs just gets even better. A wardrobe big enough to hide in that has lots of drawers for storage, an insanely comfortable bed you don't want to get out of, and best of all a claw foot bath tub. A super luxurious way to get ready or to unwind at the end of the day.
Modern country chic throughout, they have delivered all mod cons (such as a dishwasher and a power shower) whilst remaining authentic and sympathetic to the country cottage getaway. Totally relaxing without having to compromise on who washes up.
Andrea the owner is super lovely at helping the booking process and checking in but without being hands on, which is fab. And the lemon drizzle cake that was left for us in the kitchen was delicious and a very nice touch. Would thoroughly recommend this place.
We also had friends staying in one of the other cottages on site - which was equally amazing and lots of space. Definitely work a look too
We had a perfect Easter weekend in this lovely cottage. Andrea was a great host and gave us some good tips of things to do in the area. Loved the fireplace on a cold night. Would highly recommend a weekend visit!
