We have been returning to Alstonefield for the last 10 years as it is so beautiful. Always staying in one of Jo and Robert's beautiful properties. They are the perfect hosts . The last two times we have stayed in Cottage No1. The cottages are so relaxing and spotless... we shall be back soon :-)

This was our second stay at No2 and our fifth stay in one of the Alstonefield holiday cottages. Needless to say we love it here! Only an hour away from home but it really is a getaway from it all whilst being a home from home for us. The design, layout and finish of every property is fantastic and everything is provided for. Towels and linens are five star hotel quality and I was super impressed that my feather allergy was catered for with non-feather bedding this time.

We managed three long walks up hill and down dale and discovered that The Druid Inn near the Nine Ladies Druid circle now serves really good food now it is under new management. We could obviously only sit outside so don’t know what it is like indoors but the food was very good.

It was great to be the first guests back to No 2 after the lockdown restrictions and we can’t wait to be back again in the not too distant future. Thank you again Rob and Jo for your wonderful hospitality.

We hired No. 1 Church Street for a week to relax in the Peak District. The cottage was beautifully presented by Robert and Jo in such a stunning setting as Alstonefield. The local recommendations (restaurants, pubs, tea rooms etc) that were provided were fantastic - aswell as the amazing walks. Definitely will be back.

This is an area of the Peak District which I know very well but I had not stayed at Alstonefield Manor before. The accommodation was excellent. Very comfortable bed and lovely living space. Very well decorated and equipped. The grounds around the house are lovely too and with the well known George pub in the village only a short stagger away then the whole experience is very good. Communication from Rob and Jo was also just right. We will definitely return

This was our first stay in the Gardener's Cottage and we shall definitely be returning in the near future.
On arrival we were delighted with our warm, comfortable and tastefully decorated cottage set in pretty gardens.
Once we settled in and lit the log burner, we also appreciated the complimentary slices of cake with our first cups of tea!
With beautiful countryside on the doorstep, we enjoyed walking from the cottage to explore and try out some of the walks Robert and Jo had provided.
We enjoyed eating locally at The George and also had take-away meals from there.
We are looking forward to our next trip.
