Any number of places are available in Mulege, but Cliff's place, "Clementines" is the place to be. From the open air kitchen to the large comfortable bedrooms each with its own bath. The linens were of good quality and the beds were very comfortable. Our kitchen was well equipped, and very large. We had a dinner party for 8 and there was plenty of room, china, glasses, silver and every appliance and utensil needed to prepare everything from grilled shrimp to blender drinks.
Cliff was so comfortable to talk to and available to answer questions and advise throughout our visit. The local beaches are gorgeous and an easy walk or drive.
We adored the little village of Mulege and our daily trips to buy food and drinks. The local merchants are fabulous.
We can not say enough about Cliff and his beautiful world along the Mulege River. It is a little slice of paradise. Highly recommended. We can't wait to return.

I've been coming to Mexico since my college days in the '80s, but no place on Baja or the mainland has remained so unchanged as Mulege. Mulege 30 years ago looks and feels pretty much the same as one finds it today -- with the exception of Clementines B&B. When this fabulous place popped up 7 or 8 years ago, it was a remarkable addition to the natural beauty and serenity one finds in the many special places in this part of Baja. Nestled under palm trees originally planted by Jesuit missionaries centuries ago, this collection of unique and comfortable casitas is upstaged only by the lazy river and estuary that provide a lovely gateway to the Bay of Concepcion. Clementines is clearly managed well as evidenced by the cleanliness of the rooms and exterior appearance of each casita. Decorated with a local Mexican flair for color and whimsy, they are perfect for extended stays with washers and clotheslines -- not to mention fully-equipped kitchens (some kitchens even have an extra freezer for anglers' catches after a day out fishing). After many years of putting up with meager accommodations in Mulege to be close to all the local natural beauty, this place scores big time in comfort.

We have stayed at Clementine's for several years and just returned last week from another trip. The property just seems to improve with each stay. There are several casitas from which to choose, and you really can't go wrong with any of them. Our favorite is Casa Rio since it looks directly at the river and has a great courtyard for your morning coffee and evening cocktail.

Each casita we have stayed in has a certain "look and feel" that lets you know that you're at Clementine's. Everything is spotlessly clean. The beds are incredibly comfortable with great linens. Bathrooms are clean and functional. The fully-equipped kitchens have everything you need to make a quick snack or a full meal. The decor is clearly Mexican with brightly painted walls and ceramic light fixtures. The landscaping is also beautiful with vines growing on the exterior walls and flowers spilling from planters.

Clementines is located a short drive from the center of Mulege, which allows guests to enjoy the town but then retreat to the peace and quiet of the river after dinner. Not to say that Mulege is a party town; instead, it is an authentic Mexican village which is incredibly safe and charming. It is one of the few places I have visited in Mexico where the locals and the visitors totally co-exist and each group relies on the other to make the place special. While Mulege can be challenging to get to, it is absolutely worth the effort and a stay of one week would be perfect.

Fortunately, Clementine's just seems to keep getting better each year. We used to be fans of the Serenidad, but after discovering Clementine's several years ago we are hooked and will not stay anywhere else.

My family and I stayed at Clementine's for a couple of days and absolutely loved it. From the very start Cliff and company gave us the feeling that we were right at home, a bit of southern flavor. We stayed in the bed and breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful large open air kitchen, clean spacious rooms, and easy river access. We borrowed Cliff's kayaks and made our way up the river taking in the palms and birds of the water. Mulege is a great town and a stay at Clementine's will make a perfect Southern Baja get away. ¡Salud!

My wife and I spent two weeks here over Christmas. Cliff met us the first evening and said he would show us around the next morning. He did pointing out the highlights of Mulege with where to eat, shop and sight see. The casita was clean, the bed comfortable and we never wanted for anything. Linens, towels, washer etc. were first rate. We used the free kayaks to paddle on the river and see the town lighthouse. The neighbors were great, we even had a pot luck Chrstmas dinner with 4 other couples. They made us feel like long lost friends.

My wife is a college football fanatic and while we were there an important play off game was being played. The locals didn't have it on their satellite tv so Cliff came through with a much appreciated alternative and we got to watch the game.

Mulege is a laid back small town and was just what we were looking for. It has very nice local restaurants, the people are friendly, it's easy to get around and he local beaches are excellent. We are already planning our return trip next year for three weeks and can't wait.
