“Feels like home”
Reviewed 30 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We spent this weekend at Owslow Cottage to celebrate my birthday. It was such an amazing experience!

The landlords are so amazing, welcoming and warm people. I can't express in words how thankful we are for everything they did for us! We will definitely come again at some point and will express our appreciation with some gifts!

The farm is beautiful, there are plenty fields, animals, massive lakeside (although make sure u find the right pathway cause we were lost in the fields haha, but had fun).

The house is very clean, spacious and beautifully refurbished. There is everything you need! We wish we could stay for longer to enjoy the runaway from busy city life. But even two days were worth it!

Thank you so much for unforgettable weekend!

“Great relaxing environment”
Reviewed 26 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

The cottage is located in a very quiet area, away from busy roads. There are lovely walking/cycling routes and pretty towns around to visit. The cottage itself is part of a working farm run by very friendly people and is perfect for a couple or a small family. We (4 adults and baby) enjoyed it very much!

“Brilliant, small-person friendly, cosy cottage!”

Stayed for a week (not long enough!). We needed somewhere close to family in Crich and this ticked all the boxes. Rural location yet short journey to many lovely towns (Ashbourne, Bakewell etc) and historic houses like Chatsworth and Haddon Hall.

Cottage is cosy, comfy and has everything you need for a great stay. Main bedroom beautiful, comfy bed and nice view of farmyard and Carsington Water. My toddler loved sitting by the window and seeing the animals every morning!

Owners lovely and welcoming. Provided baby carrier and ride-on for the toddler and invited her to use their children's play equipment and trampoline which she loved! Also got to feed the chickens! Provided lots of information and great directions through fields to various places.

Pub within walking distance (The Knockerdown) where we had some good food. Spent a day cycling around Carsington on rented bikes-great fun!

Only disappointment is we didn't have enough time to see the llamas!

“Whata brilliant choice!”

I rented the cottage for myself, two teenage daughters and my 18 month old baby! The cottage was beautifully decorated, clean, spacious and is run by a wonderfully friendly family! Nothing was too much bother for them and easily provided us with stair gates for my toddler and a highchair. It's a great location and the kids loved looking around the farm! It's in a central location so it was very easy to get to everywhere we wanted to go to - Chatsworth, bakewell, Matlock, Heights of Abraham- everywhere. We would most definately rent the cottage again and I would highly recommend it to everyone!

“Beautiful, quiet, cosy, restful, excellent location for Dales”
Reviewed 15 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Our visit to Owslow Cottage for a cycling holiday in the Peak District was excellent. The cottage, attached to the Owners residence and on a working farm, is very clean, cosy, quaint, quiet and fully equipped for all family living needs (including very small children). During our stay Dave (owner), himself a keen cyclist, was able to give us novices good advice for cycle trails as well as other attractions in the area. My wife and I spent 5 days in July based at Owslow Cottage and enjoyed returning after a day in the saddle to sit outside and watch the swallows and swifts put on an fantastic flying display as the sun set over Carsington water.
We had very good weather but if it had been poor the cottage has a range of DVDs games etc to pass the time.
Dave and Natalie were very friendly as were the other people we met who worked on the farm. All in all a very pleasant time was had.
