This pub is set in the beautiful Lamorna valley - it is very historic previously part of the pub was home to Sir Alfred Munnings, part of the Lamorna set of Newlyn artists. The food is excellent - we had beautiful home made fish and chips, fish cakes, curry and pies during our five day stay locally. The food is all freshly prepared by a small staff so there is a bit of a wait but it is worth it. The landlady was chatty and staff friendly and helpful.

After walking from mousehole, we were looking forward to a nice lunch, but it didn't happen. Although there was only one customer in the pub at 12.30 on Tuesday, we were told our well behaved westie was not allowed in. There is various rooms and all wooden floors. Outside too windy to eat, but so unwelcoming. I bet this landlord believes that customers are an inconvenience. There isn't any signage outside advertising food.
Give this place a miss and walk back across the fields to mousehole and visit rock pool cafe. What a difference.

Stopped there on a lovely sunny day. I had roast beef & rest of family had roast pork. Food was well presented & of the highest quality. Would definitely go there again.

I visited with my wife and 2 friends for lunch. There was one other person in the pub. We had intended to have lunch there. However the barman was so unfriendly, we decided to walk on to Mousehole. This was their loss, we were likely to spend £100 but instead had a great lunch in Mousehole.

We visited here on a Friday evening , although we hadn't booked and it was busy they found us a table . The service was good and the waitress very professional . The menu was very small mainly fish , beef cheek or scampi . I had scampi which upset my stomach the next day , the fish and chips were ok although it would have been both cheaper and nicer in a fish and chip shop ! Usually the food is quite good so I don't know what happened with the chef that night !!
