“Nice Resort, Bad Restaurant”
Reviewed 27 April 2012

We visited this place with great expectations, and it was nice and big but ghost resort with minimum people around. The hotel has two parts of accommodation, one is facing the beach side, which is housed in main hotel and the other one is on the entrance side across the road, which is kind of economical but nice accommodation. Food is not good frankly, it was a very big but very bad restaurant. Not all the food items listed on the menu more than 50% were available, and we had to end up with typical Cambodian food, even which was not good and we didn't try again here. The Pool and beach side was great. They also had in house Massage parlor for which was nice and service was good.
The Safari world is a good place to spend your day, but we found that some activities (season was down may be) like dolphin show etc. were not being performed so we felt a bit bad, as they are charging the full ticket anyhow. Otherwise, the shows were great and we enjoyed half of day there. The restaurants inside the Safari world on the beach side were really pathetic and need some refurbishment and review of food items. Even getting a tea or french fires was a bad idea there.
It seems like management doesn't care about general improvement of this resort as their focus is on Thai tourist who come here for Casino usually and which may be running fine.

Room Tip: For dinner, be specific what you ask for and confirm that waiter has understood your request. Some...

This is a large and luxurious hotel and we'd agree it was a bit like a ghost town, but we quite liked it. The only other European guests staying there were an elderly couple so we had the entire, gorgeous pool to ourselves for the day!
We stayed two nights in February 2011 and the experience refreshing after staying in budget hotels throughout Cambodia. The room was large and clean, the staff didn't speak much English but didn't need to. We didn't have any problems, only that we wanted a cup of Lipton tea with our breakfast and the waiter wanted to charge us for an a la carte tea when breakfast was included. He got a bit shirty about it so we had to get the receptionist, who spoke English, from the front desk to sort it out and she was very nice.
If we were travelling through Koh Kong again this year, we would stay there again.

Room Tip: You get a choice of staying in the hotel itself or in bungalows - we stayed in the hotel which we co...

Had 3 days reserved at this resort. Upon check-in, I realized all the reviews on how unfriendly the hotel staff listed here were true. They were very unhelpful, almost with a rude tone and did not speak a word of English!! Very frustrating.

The hotel is run down and caters solely to local gamblers (NOT) foreign tourists. It's your basic "run the casino and run-down the hotel" scam... Management could not care less about the hotel, just the 70's style ancient casino they are operating.

Hotel facilities are in near abandoned conditions, waiters can't be found anywhere...

They dont even have safes in all rooms and claim they are a gaming hotel!!
Food was worse than your NYC chinese street food cart after being left abandoned for a week.... You got cold fried (greenish) eggs for breakfast and rancid, stale noodles.. An airline breakfast would be at the level of Morton's next to this fiasco offered by the Koh Kong resort.

The water in the bathroom came out (literally) brown for the first 15 minutes after I turned on the shower.... Nice....

Overpriced, super overrated. I would not even recommend this hotel to my enemies.
My wife and I were SO disappointed, we cut our losses and checked-out a day earlier due to how unpleasant the stay was. Ruined our time in Koh Kong. I recommend staying at a guest house better located (or) just cross over to the Thai border side for superior resorts and service.

Stayed one night at the resort b/c the Oasis Bungalow Resort was full (stayed there two nights). We stayed across the road from the main (and fancy) part of the hotel. Our room was only $35! And that included free breakfast and use of the pool - which is one of the best in all of Cambodia! The beach at the hotel is not the greatest.

We went to Safari World and rode the free shuttle from the hotel! The kids loved the ride from the hotel and the shows at Safari World too!

If you have the money I am sure the "nice" rooms are very elegant and would be very nice.

Room Tip: Call the hotel direct to get the $35 rate.

There seemed to be loads of staff going about their business in the hotel but practically no guests to be seen (as the previous poster says they were all in the casino) which made it feel like a 'ghost hotel', a fully staffed hotel with no guests...
The free form pool is good although when you go to the pool it isn't obvious where the lockers/ changing rooms are, and if like me your room wasn't in the main part of the hotel but over the road in the extension, you're probably not going to want to cross the road(with all the motos lurking around) in your swim wear!
Not all the staff spoke very good English which caused a few difficulties. The included 'American breakfast' was awful - a buffet of cold fried eggs and bread!
My room wasn't the cleanest and when I arrived the cleaner came in and was spraying the floor with something (why?) and saying something to me in Thai/Cambodian.
