When the taxi dropped us off, we thought there had been a mistake. We didn't see a hotel. The entrance is very discrete. We spent three nights here at the end of February and loved it. It's not a posh hotel, but the price reflects that. Our room had no window, but it did have a skylight. If you are sensitive to light, bring a sleep mask. We had a very nice bathroom with good toiletries, towels and an excellent shower. The continental breakfast, beautifully presented, each morning was a treat and is included in the room rate. The staff here are exceptional. Alberto speaks perfect English and he is charming. He organized a day tour for us to Quiroga, Tzintzuntzan and Patzcuaro with and English-speaking guide and we loved it. Morelia is a great city and we were glad that we had three days here. We will definitely be back!

We booked last minute for a one night stay in Morelia but quickly added on a second. The hotel is very basic, all rooms face the interior courtyard areas. It is extremely clean and the staff are wonderful and take great pride in their hotel. The price came with a fruit plate, yogurt and coffee but a menu is also offered for hot options for purchase. Very glad we ordered ~ the hot breakfast was absolutely delicious.
The hotel is a maximum of 5 minutes to the main square on foot, it is very safe and secure. If traveling on a budget this place cannot be beat. We'll definitely stay again if in Morelia. Note the rooms do not offer a safe.

The hotel is a maximum 5 minute walk to the Cathedral Square and is convenient and clean

Rooms are quite basic - I did not have air conditioning in mine which is questionable (was able to open windows into the courtyard which helped), beds comfortable enough and bathroom functional but small

Staff were friendly although didn't speak English but we were able to communicate and they helped with storing bags, booking taxis, wake up calls etc

Breakfast was included but I didn't have it either morning I was there - too busy!

For the rate you pay it is great value

We arrived in Morelia (for one night) without having booked accommodation, but referred to the Lonely Planet and decided to look at Hotel Meson de los Remedios. We fully endorse the recommendation and would happily stay there again.

Hotel Meson is located just a few blocks from the main historic district in Morelia. The master suite we reserved was a spacious two-story affair. King size bed on the top floor with jacuzzi bath/shower. There was a double bed and half bath on the bottom floor with a nice sitting area and couch. Desayuno was included and was generous: fresh fruit, yogurt, bread, eggs and bacon or ham. The staff was very friendly and quite helpful. Most spoke some English.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side might be a little quieter, but the area was pretty tranquil anyway.
