Rancho de la Sierra is a one of a kind vacation spot Britta and Brett are awesome hosts. Thank You!!both soooo much for making our 2nd stay memorable and special!!
Even though we kept ourselves pretty busy this time, we did enjoy some relaxing time around the property and pool! We enjoyed being with the dogs and felt like we were part of the family!
We look forward to our next visit!
This is my third time staying and I am never disappointed.
Brett & Britta are amazing hosts that are able to anticipate your every need without being intrusive.
The casitas are clean and well appointed. I love to sit on the patio and drink in the peace and serenity the property has to offer. The pool and party palapa is your private beach area to soak up the sun.
It’s not far from the airport or San Jose del Cabo but you feel like you are on your own private remote resort. Where one can truly relax and unwind.
Definitely enjoy the farm fresh eggs and chicken that Brett raises for local restaurants and hotels.
Warm sun & hospitality. Truly a magical paradise you will not regret visiting.
Our stay was relaxing and a lovely emersion in the vegetation and birds of that area. We went to sleep to the tinkling bells of local goat herd and awoke to a chorus of doves. Be sure to enjoy eggs and chicken from their little chicken ranch. If interested Brett will give you a tour. Also pick up fresh tortillas in Santa Anita on the way in. The casita was very comfortable and private.
We arrived in December to a lush environment as the previous months brought a lot of rain. That rain also affected the sandy road through the valley and up hill to the mesa. However, Britta lead us in from the airport and successfully guided us up to paradise made even more spectacular by the adventure getting there. So worth it!
Not everyone will like this place. But everyone who DOES self select for it will ADORE it. Yes, you're a bit away from San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas and the resort aspect of things. Yes, cell reception is fine but you need to walk about 50 yards to a nice spot next to the main house for wifi. Yes, the dirt road is about three miles long and there's one hill on it requiring steady nerves the first time you go up. But when you do get up that hill, you find three perfect casitas for two, in the midst of a landscape you'd have a hard time matching outside of a national park. We revel in the outdoors, and woke up deeply happy every morning for 10 days, having breakfast on our porch with the birds, grateful for the way that Brett and Britta have landscaped, cared for and shared their 27 acres of Baja. The pool and palapa that are steps from the casita add immensely to the pleasure. The overall location was also perfect for what we like to do -- take day trips in every direction from a base camp. The casita and palapa were well equipped for the cooking we like to do for ourselves. And Brett and Britta were generous, accommodating, knowledgeable, helpful and interesting, while leaving us blissfully at peace most of the time. I could bore you with details, but if you read any four or five of the reviews you'll get the picture. If this is your KIND of preferred accommodation, you will love it here.
The casita, the hosts, the ambiance... I cannot say enough wonderful things about this holiday! We are usually the 'typical tourists' - running around trying to do and see everything - but for the first time in our lives, we were so totally relaxed, we spent a few days doing nothing but swimming in the pool, reading our books and more swimming in the pool. We did go into Cabo San Lucas and Cabo San Juan and we did see some of the tourist attractions...but the Britta and Brett are the consummate hosts and made us so welcome and comfortable, we just relaxed at the pool, under the 'party palapa!' Our casita had everything we needed, so every morning was spent eating breakfast outside, then reading on our deck. We are definitely coming back!
