Nice place with a great location and very good service. Expensive meals and drinks. Room above average but beds a bit stiff and very average pillows. I own a piece of this place as a timeshare but question the value as it appears one can rent the place for a week as you would a hotel at about the same $ value. Worthwhile to visit, yes, worthwhile to buy into, ?????
It is still under construction as of Nov. 2015. This was a bit of an inconvenience although the staff was outstanding in their ability to work around the issue and take care of any needs you may have. Also very friendly.

Just celebrated our 55th wedding anniversary and the resort could not have been nicer. Anna at the concierge was wonderful in helping with a couple of problems, not the resorts, and made sure we had the reservations we needed. The resort sent a beautiful plate with chocolate covered strawberries and said happy 55th.






Room tip: the room had everything we needed a safe, plenty of pillows lots of towels and products and the views are to die for.

We just returned from a perfect week vacation at the Grand Solmar. The grounds, facilities are top notch. We have traveled to many places and this is at the top of our list. I read a few reviews on here before our trip stating there is a lot of construction noise. Yes there is construction, but in order to make the facilities even more amazing they need to do work. I guess some people just need to complain. I need to point out a few people who went out of their way to make our trip perfect. Francisco at the sunset pool, Francisco the security guard(thanks for taking our perfect family picture) and all of the bell staff. If you are looking for a wonderful place, with or without kids this is it. We are looking forward to returning very soon and definitely recommend the Grand Solmar to everyone. Until next time...

We are delighted to know that you consider your stay with us a perfect vacation. As you mention the construction that we have at the momento is something that is neccesary in order to finish this month our main lobby and in December the main entrance. We are very exited for this as you are going to enjoy many amenities like the new deli café and the sports bar.

This property was not yet completed when we stayed. The lobby area was being constructed. Can't seeing this being completed prior to years' end. The other public areas are very nice. The room (one bedroom) was spacious and tastefully decorated with a very large balcony. We had a top floor which afforded nice views.

The service was a bit sketchy. This can be easily fixed with proper management. Prior to arriving, we stayed at the new Secrets resort and the service there was much better by comparison.

No one sits out on the beach and there are no chairs or shading options there. The ocean is not swimmable. No problem due to the pools being placed directly next to the beach with great views.

We had issues with the relatively long walk to the temporary car pick up area, walking through a construction zone. We were not made aware of this by the owner of the unit who rented to us - even though we asked. Many others had big complaints about this and other service (i.e. people) related issues.

Jose, at the front desk, as well as someone at the concierge desk are the only ones to deserve special mention for their kindness, assistance, and service-oriented behavior. When we had an issue with the police (wanted a bribe for wife not wearing a seatbelt) we called the concierge who was very proactive to solve the issue. Seemed he had the attitude of 'no one messes with our guests'. Very appreciative.

Look forward to staying here again in the future. Just hope the service, particularly in the pool area, improves.

You can make sure that we will follow up your message and that we will work harder than ever at our pool áreas so you can feel the difference regarding the service aspect. For us is very special to know this so wecan share it with the captains and waiters and they understand the importance of their positions.

As you mention, our beach have no chairs as it can have very high tide somedays, We always have security presence.

We hope to have our main lobby ready by december, then we will resolve the walking through situation, In the meantime we really are thankful with our guest as they understand this and are very cooperative with us.

We will definetly share with our concierge team and with Jose your comments, and also with the rest of the staff, so they can understand the importance to make a difference with our guest.

We just got home from a wonderful week at the Grand Solmar Land's End. I am happy to report that all of the damage done to the pools from last years HUGE store is not complete... in fact, the construction on the new part of the resort is all most done too! Our week started when we were greeted by the Bellboys who always seem to remember your name...we do look forward to talking to all the friends we have made over the years who work at The Solmar, we are already looking forward to our time in Cabo next year!
