Espinoza and Alberto are the best ever!! All of the hotel staff are phenomenal!! It is more of a party hotel, so if your looking for less noise but the same wonderful people, I highly recommend Villa Del Arco, or the higher end Estancia.

Although we weren't guests at the Villa del Palmar hotel, we had a delightful meal at the resort's new restaurant, Tomatillos. The restaurant is located in a gazebo in front of the hotel; it's intimate -- seating maybe 25 people at the most. Focusing on fresh "farm-to-table" cuisine, Tomatillos' food and service were absolutely superb (easily the best meal I've had in my visits to Cabo). Pedro and Paco took such good care of us, remembering our names and making recommendations for items from the menu that took into account our preferences and any allergies. Another example of the kindness and service here: we were getting ready to leave -- and we were the last group in the restaurant -- when a family came in late because their flights had been delayed. The restaurant staff fired up the grill again to take care of them. We definitely plan to return!

Our all exclusive experience at Villa del Palmar was excellent, despite a required room change, thanks with help fromMohamed Elmarsry. Our service and respect from the staff was unbelievable. We would also like to give a shout out to Enemias for outstanding service. We will return to the Villa group since we are now owners

We are members of Villa del Palmar and have stayed in Cancun and Arco in Puerta Vallarta, excellent properties, service and amenities. We expected no less at Cabo, but sad to say, it was much less.
Room - our room was in building 1 on the second floor. When the elevator door opened, there was a bad, chemical like smell. Arriving on the second floor, the smell was really bad - not jus a little - chemical like smell. Every time we entered the hallway, we half held our breath until reaching our room. Fortunately, the smell was much less noticeable in our room. However, the overall appearance and cleanliness of the room made my wife toes curl, and we had to call to have the room clean - there was actually a layer of dust on the headboard of the bed which just left us feeling skeezy. Note that they immediately attended to this, and did a follow up call to insure our satisfaction - kudos for that. Most of the issue is simply because the place is so outdated. The lamp shades were stained and disgusting. The grout in the bathrooms is black and moldy looking, some of the finish work looks like a third graders work. The toilets are jammed in against the sink cabinet so close that the top for the toilet will not fit. I do not know how a big person gets by with this, as it is uncomfortable for me, a 180 lb person. The room is to sleep 4, fortunately we were only 3, as the pull down in the living room is cheap, and every time you moved, it made a racket. My teenage son slept on it, waking himself multiple times at night. Two people would have hated each other sleeping there. I tried to change to the Arco, but Arco would give no credit for our points at Villas, but would accept $305 US for the change - couldn't stomach that.

All inclusive - other resorts good, Cabo, just ok. We do not eat big, and 2 out of 3 do not drink. I am glad we did not have to pay the rack rate for any meals, as they are ridiculous - breakfast, for 3, for instance would have been $98 bucks for buffet, plus tip - wow. Dinners several hundred dollars. And all inclusive does not include all restaurants, or the minibar, including water, and snack items in the room - that seemed ridiculous. If you are tipping at 20%, you are going broke here!

Grounds and pool - small and nothing special

Service and staff - very pleasant and no complaints.

We have read many other reviews, many people are well satisfied with the place. Others have many of the same complaints we expressed. I will say we stayed at the Hampton Inn at the airport for a night, and would have rather stayed there than Villas. The response to these from management seems to be "thanks we here you" but nothing seems to change. We will not go back to this place, nor recommend it.

This resort is mediocre at best. We were originally appointed room 1111. Before we went into the room, we thought we had scored a great room...bottom floor, poolside, near a bar. A great location... then we walked into the room. It had an overwhelming odor of cleaner. This room was beat up, outdated and dark. We thought maybe it would air out but when we returned later that evening, there was still a nose burning scent. No way we could sleep there. I went to front desk and, instead of being shown different rooms by on duty staff, I was handed a key card to check out two more rooms . Those rooms were also unacceptable. When I returned to the desk, I was offered another room and , again, was sent out to find this room in a different building on my own. This room was the room farthest from the beach but it was more updated than the previous beat up rooms. It was bright and acceptable because I was tired of being sent to check out rooms on my own. I just was not impressed with the iOS er service at this point. Our room was typically serviced early so that was a plus.
Next comment is about the all inclusive package. As many before have stated, choices are limited. The breakfast buffet at Bella is the best option of the day and if you are lucky enough to get a seat close to the rail, you have a beautiful view!! The buffet is huge and the servers there are are top notch. If you want a snack beyond chips and salsa or pizza or the like, you will have to go across to the market and buy your own. We are accustomed to snacks such as ice cream, popcorn, cookies being included in the all inclusive packages.... but not here. Nope! You have to go across to the Villa group market where you can purchase those for extra...My husband enjoyed the dinner buffet but I thought it was largely the same items presented differently each night. We had a stand out waiter, Gabriel, at the dinner buffet. He was fantastic! Always laughing while giving great service.
The pool service does take a while but waiters are always hoofing it trying to keep everyone’s cup full! The pool area is gorgeous and there are plenty of pools in various areas.. some quiet, some a little more lively!
We were disappointed in the beach option because vendors lined up right in front of the beach chairs blocking the gorgeous view. It was like a little mall on the beach. I understand that this is how many are making their living but it is a bit of a nuisance when they just stand right in front of you. So our beach time was limited to outings which was a let down to us.
I would have to think long and hard about returning to this resort.
One more thing, Most people at the resort worked really hard to serve us well. And for that, we didn’t mind leaving more gratuities to help those lovely people.
