We enjoyed our stay at the Belmond and especially appreciated the great service provided by the concierge, Ricardo Jimenez. Ricardo worked miracles with all our requests. Securing favorite restaurants and ensuring the best tables. He was always so pleasant and accommodating.

Room Tip: The building located across the street from Reception is the best location. Other buildings are further away from the center of town.

My husband and I had a night out to celebrate Mexico's Independence Day! Had cocktails in the bar…ordered our food from the bar and requested we not go to our table until the food was being served! It all worked out perfectly! Nice wine, wonderful starters and perfect mains! Service was excellent! We will go back and take friends!

I visited Belmond Casa De Sierra Nevada on Sept 1- 4th. The reason I booked the hotel was for its central location.. When I got to the hotel I was told I would be given an off sight room away from the central area 10 minutes away from the main property. I was surprised since It is not mentioned in the website.. I told the gentleman that the only reason I booked the hotel was for the location. after a few minutes he said that a room might be available in the central property. I knew he was lying and just played the part two minutes later he had a room in the central area. Be careful, if you book this place because of location make sure they don't try to give you an off sight room..

We had a wonderful stay at Casa de Sierra Nevada for five nights this week, perfectly located in the heart of beautiful San Miguel. The hotel itself is lovely in the old Mexican style we love, and the staff are terrific. This is one of he friendliest towns we've ever been to, and this hotel reflects that as well. Starting with Ricardo and Octavio at the reception and concierge desks who couldn't be nicer and more helpful, to our very personable butler Gustavo, and the head chef Juan who is a rising young star, we felt completely taken care of and welcomed. Everyone smiles and are eager to help in anyway they can. Our room (354) in the main building, was cozy and well-appointed but still with all the modern conveniences. There's a beautiful pool and garden area just across the street. The breakfasts (included on our plan) were delicious. On weekends wedding celebrations resonate through the streets making it a festive place to be. We can't wait to check back in at the Sierra Nevada.

Room Tip: Ask about the different buildings, there are several.

The Casa de Sierra Nevada owns a number of buildings within the historic district of San MIguel De Allende. We originally took a suite in the Casa Parque, roughly three blocks from the Casa Principale, the hotel’s main building that also houses the hotel’s restaurant. Because of internet connections in that building, we opted to move into the Casa Limon, across the street from the Casa Principale. After that very brief transition, our stay has been everything we could wish for in a home away from home.

The suite itself is spacious, with a king bed, fireplace, dual sinks in the master bath, a standing shower, radiant-heat floors, and a copper tub for two. Immediately outside our suite is a semi-private patio and three inner courtyards — one of which houses a pool, and the other, a business center. The grounds inside the Casa Limon are lush with flowers and well-manicured foliage.

The service is impeccable. Everything from room service to laundry and dry cleaning, is efficient, and the staff members have been, without exception, genuinely pleasant and solicitous. Their attention to minor details — remembering our names, laying flower petals on pillows and bath mats each night, bringing an extra serving of our favorite salsa verde with our breakfast — has made every day here a joy.

The hotel’s restaurant offers a number of speciality enchiladas and a wonderful menu of Mexican dishes of generous portions. Venturing out from the hotel was also incredibly easy because of its location in the historic district and proximity to the other top-rated restaurants in town. And to the city’s best shops and boutiques.
