The Fox Rock Inn is located in the quiet farm setting of Clogh, (County Laois) yet is just minutes to all the main motorways to get you off to where you want to be. At the end of each day's exploring we always looked forward to returning to the peace and solitude of the Fox Rock Inn, bordered by rolling green pastures and star-studded night skies (no light pollution out here!) Our big, bright spotlessly-clean room with a quality mattress ensured a great night's sleep plus the modern ensuite bathroom with loads of endless hot water was a real treat. Breakfast was made to order and kept us going for the whole day. The attached "Mary's Bar" was the ideal way to end the night with a pint & bag of crisps while meeting the friendly quiet locals who, along with the owners, Sean and Marian, were always pleased to share suggestions & directions of the many attractions the surrounding area offered. You can't go wrong here!

Room Tip: The "Lake" room is great!

Absolutely loved and highly recommend This place.

Myself and a few mates stayed here for a night and we were very impressed

On arrival, no fuss just checked into our rooms and where all settled in.

The connected bar was very convenient and perfect for a quiet few drinks and light bar entertainment (darts etc)

Great rooms had everything we needed and the bathrooms were excellent quality.

The breakfast was amazing; full Irish and the traditional spread.
The owners were great. Very warm and friendly and provided a great service. Made every effort to ensure we had a pleasant trip. Plus offered some interesting and useful insight to what to see and do locally

Sean and Meriann totally ROCK! The B&B is attached to the pub that they also operate. They welcome you and make you feel right at home. We arrived late because of problems in Dublin but they were there waiting for us. Had some Guinness in the pub and met the locals. It was a blast. Friendly and taught me Hurley. I would give this place a 100 stars if that were an option.

Just back from a visit to the beautiful counties of Laois and Kilkenny. We had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Foxrock Inn on a B&B basis. We had a large comfy bedroom, and the full Irish breakfast was great to keep you going. TV is in the lounge.
Marian, Sean and Laura made us so welcome over the entire stay and they went out of their way to help us in our research into our family. Sean also serves up a nice pint of Guinness.
The Inn is located in beautiful countryside and is a relaxing place to visit. Around the village of Clough (pronounced Cluck) there are many ancient sites and Grantstown Lake woodland and nature reserve, is a gem hidden away just down the road. To the north, you find the Abbey of Aghaboe and Saighir (important sights within the ancient kingdom of Osraige) and the Slieve Bloom Mountains, which we travelled around in the car and took some wonderful pictures. To the south, we travelled down to Kilkenny with its Castle and historic city. Just down the road from Clough is the town of Rathdowney, which has pubs and takeaways and also has a great Supervalu shop for all your bits and bobs that you may need, including a Payzone facility to pay for the M50 Dublin toll.
The people that we met, both in Laois (pronounced Leesh) and Kilkenny were all very friendly and helpful and we will make a point of returning to this charming area of Ireland once again in the future.
We would recommend the Foxrock Inn to anyone.

Room Tip: Our room at the front of the Inn was overlooking the quiet road in the village. Rooms at the rear ov...
