Myself and husband stayed at the St Peter’s Bay Resort with our two teenagers. When we initially drove in I was really disappointed as I had expected a long driveway and large grounds. It is literally set right on the coastal road but as I discovered, most of the hotels in Barbados are like this.
Anyway, our apartment was stunning, really top quality, couldn’t fault it. Really spacious too so we could all have space from each other if we needed it! My son went in the hot tub everyday after the beach and loved it.
The resort itself is very small. One restaurant (The Gazebo Bar) which closes by 9pm each night. One morning there were three families at breakfast and that was the busiest we saw it! It was very quiet but I think a lot of people eat in their apartments. We didn’t cook once. We had breakfast included (the pancakes were amazing) and ate lunch and dinner there a few times and always found the food to be good.
The beach is a little rocky but not a problem. We never had a problem getting a sun bed and found that we would often have the whole beach to ourselves!
All the staff were friendly and accommodating, as were most people in Barbados.
If you want atmosphere and a place to drink at night, this isn’t the place for you. I would definitely advise hiring a car as I would have been bored if we hadn’t. We had a car for 5 days so were able to explore and eat out. A couple of others days we got a taxi into Holetown to eat. Especially recommend Surfside, a restaurant on the beach. May not have been the best food but there was music and the atmosphere was great, I really felt like I was in the Caribbean!
There is a boat shuttle to the sister resort St Ferdinand. We went there for lunch but it was absolutely deserted. The boat ride was nice though and we used it to go to Speightstown for lunch one day and they picked us up when we had finished!
It really was a lovely holiday from start to finish. I hate overcrowded places, where you have to get up at 6am each morning to reserve a sun bed. This was nice and quiet and had made me fall in love with the Caribbean!

We stayed at St Peters Bay hotel in July an August. It was our first time in Barbados and we were very well looked after by the lovely staff. In particular the breakfast staff, Keisha and Samantha were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for these hard working ladies! The house keeping staff were also excellent, apart from the person who left all the lights on and the patio doors open all day, allowing the mosquitos to fly around...We found Barbados rather expensive and our attempts to take local transport and eat at local restaurants were taken with a few raised eyebrows, I think. The Chinese take away down the road from the hotel is ok, nothing great. I would recommend The Wreck, down the road to the right of the hotel, if you want to eat out without driving or taking s taxi. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays, closes at 7pm. Ask for Gordon, he makes a mean cocktail! We found taxis quite expensive and only took a few. The local reggae bus was an experience but we preferred the blue Government bud, which for the same price provides a less stressful ride. We went to the Fish Pot which although expensive was excellent. The beach staff at St Peters Bay were also lovely, do take the water taxi up to Port Ferdinand and have a swim in the pool there. Not to be confused with Nikki Beach which is an over-rated hangout for 25 year olds!

We've just returned from a stay at St Peters Bay and it was the perfect group getaway. We had Villa 204, which has a nice view and a private elevator for easy access to the beach. The Villa was fully equipped and great for a group of friends with 3 good size en suite bedrooms, a large living area, Kitchen and utility area with a washer & dryer. The outside terrace had a large table for eating outside, a comfy lounging area & a Hot Tub and perfect for breakfast or cocktails. When we showed up, there were basics already stocked so two hungry teenagers had grilled cheese sandwiches and were able to enjoy the late afternoon.
There is plenty of space at the beach and it felt crowded and the team will set you up with loungers and umbrellas. Guests staying here get a complimentary swim with Turtles experience which was amazing and they will arrange just about any water related sport to come to you and there are plenty of water sports available for free at the beach to keep everyone active and a platform to swim out to.
The Concierge reached out well in advance of our trip and was very pleasant and helpful arranging airport pickup and surfing lessons. They provided a lot of great recommendations for places to eat.
The location is great for exploring the west coast and the closest town, Speightsown has a number of really nice restaurants locally.
St Peter’s Bay had everything our group needed for a fantastic holiday and I would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

Room tip: The higher up you go, the better the view. Quiet regardless.

This was an amazing facility. Massive rooms, loads of space. Rosalind who received us was very warm and engaging. The apartments are really a home away from home. All the staff bar none ( big shout out to Shakira and Samantha in the Restaurant) are welcoming, professional and friendly. The breakfast is made to order and a lot of care is put into its presentation. The facility is literally a minute from the beach - beach facing. We all had a fantastic time and would love to go again.

It was our first time vacationing in Barbados, and at Saint Peter's Bay Resort. What a beautiful island!!. Our villa was on the 4th Floor overlooking the beach. The 3 bedroom villa was tastefully decorated and very clean. I can't say enough about the staff at the resort. From the beach staff to house keeping. Everyone was delightful, always smiling and very helpful. Anything we asked for they accommodated us. The wait staff were professional, and friendly. A special thanks to the gals at Concierge; they were so helpful to all of us. So friendly and genuine. They set us up for our excursions, and gave good tips. The Cliff Restaurant for one, where my daughter got engaged. It was perfect. Also, a thank you to the car services, taxis as well.
Great yoga class too.
We will definitely be back!
