Really friendly owner and really good food. Probably the best and safest place to eat on Don Khon. Really enjoyed the baguette and went back the next morning for muesli. If you're looking for Western food on Don Khon, this is your best bet. Reasonably priced too.

At this place we had one of our best dinners within the last months! The restaurant can be found a couple of hundred meters east of the bridge to don det on don khone island.
It is a small and very cozy place. The offer laotian and european food in very good quality. We had the lao menu, which included papaya salad, laap and fish and an incredibly good cake for desert as well as a chicken salad, beer, wine and two espressi for about 180.000 kip. They also offer different breakfast and a daily plate for a about 20.000 kip.
The quality of the food was very good, the place is very clean and welcoming, and the owners are friendly.
To sum up: I strongly recommend this place, haven't eaten that good in quite some time :-)

Stopped in here for dinner one night and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Thai food, there aren't too many great places in the 4,000 islands but this is definitely one of them. Would go back again for sure... actually we tried to go back the next evening because my wife left her hat & we were craving the amazing spiced sausage but they were closed, oh well can't trust the hours on google!

We had a number of a very disappointing meals on Don Khone, so we were very keen to try Fred's cooking. Unfortunately the first night was turned up the restaurant was full to capacity, so we had to go elsewhere. We tried again a couple of days later, and we were not disappointed. The quality of food was great, the meals were fresh and very tasty, the owner was lovely (in fact we had a couple of complimentary shots of some special brew thrown in at the end of the night which we appreciated).... We also heard rave reviews from fellow travellers we'd met who'd been going there each day for all of their meals. Highly recommended :)
