The grounds of this hotel are beautiful and perfectly maintained and the room was lovely, light and airy. Everything else about this hotel is however average or below. The food is very hit and miss, I tried the Chinese menu when it was on one night and this turned out to be the best meal we had! Dishes in general were not up to standard and most came out cold. I would summarise by saying it all tasted cheap and 'school dinner-y' which is a real shame having eaten elsewhere round the country and realising the range and quality of fresh produce available is wonderful.
Please stop playing dance and trance music round the hotel especially around the pool! I found this very strange for a hotel marketed as a 'retreat'. We had to find a bed far down the resort for a bit of piece and quiet.
Keep you expectations low and do not think of this as a luxury hotel to avoid disappointment.

The atmosphere was very relaxing, vey friendly, very quiet, just what we wanted and needed. A smaller more intimate resort. Biking into Tulum, to the ruins and to the beach was great. We felt very safe.

I thought this place is heaven - very beautyful view! Yoga in the morning and in the evening. Quiet and stressless place. Very friendly waiters, very tasty a la carte menu until our last day when something happened - not so tasty dinner and dreary waiters. We stayed 7 nights and we were very pleased!

I'm giving my review a 4, but as far as how we felt while there and after it's a 5, the 4 is just due to small things, that if addressed could make this a definite 5 star property.

This is definetly the most serene and peaceful vacation we have ever been on, probably due to the Adult Only factor, which is wonderful.

The staff is wonderful, from being greeted in the relaxing lobby by Manuel, to the servers at the bars and restaurants. The food was wonderful and we appreciated that is not buffet only. Lots of variety on the menu's.

The Balinese beds are so lovely and we never had issues getting one, or a lounger by the pool. If you are looking for BEACHFRONT this is not the property for you, however it is a 10 minute walk, or you can bike or take a shuttle. We found the beach too busy and prefered lounging and listening to the waves crash on the rocks. We were never able to get a bike, as getting up early while on vacation is not for us, but no matter.

The rooms were large, bathrooms huge. (2 sinks). The water pressure could be better, and if you are particular about your hair bring your own dryer, as the ones in the rooms are not great. The jaccuzzi tub takes a while to fill (due to H20 pressure) and the water was a funny colour, but hubby enjoyed it. They were also having hot water issues when we checked in, but we were offered access to the spa if we wanted to shower.

How can this resort do better? More lighting on pathways (VERY dark at night) but I do understand that being on the natural reserve land it's difficult to get electric and water issues addressed. Better water pressure and quality, and some elbow grease into shining up fixtures and shower/water taps could increase the star power of this resort.

Overall we loved this resort, and would recomend it if you are looking to chill out and relax. If you are looking for busy, shopping and entertainment, you may be better off staying in Cancun.

What a beautiful hotel - the site, the grounds, the view, the rooms and the accessibility to the beaches and the town made Kore Tulum one of the best places I've stayed.

From my entry to reception, where I was greeted with soft music, a beautiful cold drink and a cool towel, to the wonderful food at every meal, through to the warmth of the check-out process, Kore Tulum was the perfect place for a relaxing week.

The staff were all very warm and friendly (and did really well with putting up with my attempts at Spanish). I would especially like to mention Victoria, who is a truly genuine person, and Nemesio, who was superb, both at his job and at teaching me Maya, along with the finer points of Spanish. Bix a bel, Nemesio?

There had been an issue with the hot water, which was fixed part-way through my stay. I didn't find it a problem, personally. The manager, Guillermo, even took the time to explain what was up with it, which I found a very nice, and unexpected, touch.

If your goal is to relax and unwind in gorgeous surroundings in a quiet atmosphere, this is the hotel for you.
