We were on a tour and had a dead line before our tour left, we told the waiter we were leaving at a certain time and asked if the food would be ready in time and he said it would.

We were waiting almost a half an hour for a pizza. There were not many people there so no excuse for the delay. Our time to leave had passed and we told the waiter we could not wait any longer so he said this to his manager. She was the most aggressive&ignorant person I have ever seen to be in charge of a business. She delayed our tour and insisted on us waiting even though we had told them our dead line. She would not accept any responsibility for her co workers mistakes. Including the theft of change and again denied this. Basically tried to ruin our day. She threatened us and left a bad image of trips in Mexico in our minds. Toilets were filthy, dingy and run down. But the horrendous treatment we received from staff was by far the worst experience we have ever have. It left us both shaken.

We had a nice simple lunch here on our visit to the Tulum ruins.

Our cab driver, Santos, recommended this place.

We both had the "Mayan Fish Fillet" which came with rice and potatoes.

The fish was covered with a sauce consisting of mainly green and red bell peppers.

A very excellent hot sauce was brought out from the kitchen, and some nice fresh tortillas. They try to pawn off the white bread, but my wife insisted on the corn tortillas (in Spanish), then they broke down and gave us the tortillas.

I'd say the service is "meh." More of a place for the local shop keepers and cab drivers to eat. My wife is from Mexico, so we can navigate these kinds of places without difficulty.

I am not going to leave a massive comment here but just wanted to say that I found the lady that ran the restaurant to be an extremely rude individual as well as a few of the staff members.

The worst dining experiences I have had in central America.

I had the pizza, and it tasted like it was one of those frozen pizzas heated up. Very plastic and hard.

Went to the restraunt. This place is an obvious trap our tour bus leaves you here and picks you up from here even though it would make more sense to leave you closer to the gate. The place was dirty they are clearly in on it together because they force you to spend a good deal of time waiting here. I assume stranding tourist here is the only way this place can stay in business.

We ended up here because we wanted to be able to get to the ruins early in the morning and the bus dropped us off right in front of it. The price was right. The people were nice and it was peaceful and quiet. Stay here if you don't want to be bothered at night. There is nothing around at night after the park closes except for one other little hotel.
The reason to stay here is simply the convenience of being next to the park. We wanted to walk down to the beach. Before sunrise but did not get up. Oh well.
Recommend this place -as you can walk to the center of tulum (30 minutes) or take 5 minute collective bus.
Tulum is a great place to visit and this is a nice starting point.
