We have been here in June'18 at our last stop in Mexico.
Stayed seven days in total because we really felt comfortable. Tiana gives her best and take care about her guests.
We spended most of the time at the roof top by cooking or hanging out at hammocks.
It's just five minutes to the beach and i hardly recommend two options for eating:

1. "Rubens" restaurant directly to the left when you're leaving the hotel - try the chocolate cake.
2. "Leo" - the best&cheapest burger man in mexico. you can find him next to the crossroad to the left too.
he is there every day from 3 to 12 (pm).

enjoy you stay and tell them greetings from Martin&Zuni :)

We stayed the first week of June for three nights and found things wonderful. The location was off the beaten path a little bit but still just a short walk to the beach and down the main shopping stretch. The best part was the mercado just across the street where you can get fresh fruits and juices and authentic Mexican food for just a few pesos.

Taina at the front desk was very helpful in planning our days and has cute little puppies to welcome guests home.

The air conditioning was on point and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The kitchen on the top floor was well stocked and available to use at any point. They even had an honor bar of snacks and drinks.

The two negatives that I saw were spotty internet and the fact that they only take cash. While it wasn't a problem, we did have to go to the bank during the trip to get an unusually large amount of money to pay the bill.

We would definitely consider staying here again if we opt for the hotel route.

Not sure how long Kate has had this very nice place, but we have passed it many, many times as this is our fifteenth year traveling to Isla. Regretfully we only had a week here. There are many positives: Taina, the hostess I guess you'd say, is sweet, eager to help, eager to please, and just a delight to know. Location - The Loncheria, the Mercado, Ruben's, and a small tienda (store) are all just a few steps away. Playa Norte is maybe a 4 minute walk and Ave. Hidalgo is the next street over. In other words, the location is about as good as it gets. Even Ciro's, my favorite golf cart vendor, is in the same block. Others have pointed out the atmosphere, with the tropical plants and the wall colors. There are three story high palms growing up through the center of the hotel, reminiscent in a way of the charming gardens of the best New Orleans French Quarter hotels. There is a feeling of trust...towels for the beach are available and in a rack available to all. Honor code beer, soft drinks and snacks are available. We loved it here. If there is a negative at all, it is that the shower wasn't great. That is typical of plumbing in the older Mexican establishments. Frankly, that's a minor issue and we'll be back! Sorry we missed you, Kate. Maybe next time.

We loved our stay here! Our room was on the bottom floor and space wasnt compromised. Working air con and great outdoor seating areas accessinke to all guests on the ground, middle and top floor. Theres a great reading area on the bottom floor too where you can borrow some books. The kitchen is spacious and clean and bottoled water stations are on each floor. At night the outdoor areas come to life with fairy lights everywhere! From checkin through to checkout we recieved warm goodmornings and chats everyday from the staff! There is a fresh fruit and veg market across the road (fresh juices are amazing and about 40 pesos) there is also a string of 4 luncheries which are open from 830 through tilm about 3pm. Genuine mexican food and super cheap and delicious! The only problems we had with the hotel was the mosquitos on the bottom floor, even with spray on, we probably needed mozzie coils outside the room. Also the shower head did not produce a very good flow of water but hot water was available. Over all we loved it here!

This is a great hotel away from the hustle and bustle but still within walking distance of the main areas of Isla. The rooms were very clean and the resort grounds were very beautiful. The staff was accommodating and I would come back to this hotel.
