There are several wonderful dive sights along Palancar Reef in Cozumel. If you are a diver this is a must place to come to and enjoy some world class diving.

My husband, myself and two grown sons did 5 dives over two days on this reef. Lots of corals, sponges, barracuda, turtles,
Eagle rays, parrot fish, lobster, crabs and much, much more. Loved shots on the reef of looking up and getting great pics, water vis was 100+ foot. Swim throughs and 45 minute dive to 115 foot, great diving. We had one novice diver who sucked a tank in 35 minutes and my husband took him to the surface with no problem. We had a private boat and got all the diving from our tanks and time. There seemed to be 50 boats on the reef when we arrived but we did not cross paths with other divers, only heard spear guns firing, haha. The reef is showing signs of lots of divers, broken coral and sponges, so very sad to see. Please be careful when diving, highly recommend.

We snorkeled the three reefs, El Cielo, Columbia, and Palancar. All very different for aquatic life. My favorite was Palancar, it was so cool snorkeling to the edge where the island of Cozumel ends and it drops off into a dark abyss. Truely amazing. It was also fun to see all the divers working their way through the caves and crevices just at the edge of that drop off and the fishes coming out of everywhere.

The snorkel trip for $35 US dollars was a great deal. You go to Cielo and Columbia reefs. We saw rays, starfish, a school of dagger fish, and a sea turtle! Well worth the drive out.

Best dive of the entire trip, ask for Chili charters to take you there, you will be astounded at the beauty.
