Went to tulum temple. Nice as it was by the ocean. Ocean breeze was lovely with the hot weather. There’s a market place nearby with lots of shops to buy souvenirs.

We rented a car to see the ruins. They did not disappoint! The ruins were very interesting and right on the beach. Many people went swimming and the beach looked very nice. We chose to pay for a personal guide and he did a great job explaining the ruins to us. These ruins are very different than Chichen Itza. They are a bit newer and seemed to be built by less skilled people. It was quite interesting.

There are hotels and restaurants lined along the street. Just a few steps from the beach, but there are not many places with free access to the beach..Living here is more expensive than in town

You have to be quick and careful when crossing anywhere along Tulum Avenue. Traffic is fast and nuts! No regard for designated pedestrian cross walks. The avenue has lots of shops and convenience stores, local eateries, a large supermarket, banks and other services. Wear good, comfortable shoes and enjoy the walking and sightseeing. We felt safe even in the evenings.
