Review of Tulum Avenue

Tulum Avenue
Ranked #16 of 163 things to do in Cancun
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 19 November 2017

You have to be quick and careful when crossing anywhere along Tulum Avenue. Traffic is fast and nuts! No regard for designated pedestrian cross walks. The avenue has lots of shops and convenience stores, local eateries, a large supermarket, banks and other services. Wear good, comfortable shoes and enjoy the walking and sightseeing. We felt safe even in the evenings.

Tulum Avenue is the main downtown street. You will find a large supermarket at the beginning of the street. There are many shops and outdoor cafes. There is even a Burger King if you want a taste of home.

We were lucky to find out about two Farmacias on Tulum Avenue, one that was very close to the Chedravi Supermarket. The name of these Pharmacies is Simil and they are a chain. They have a doctor on call. Tom got a sinus infection. The doctor cost of his visit was only four dollars. We checked the meds that he was prescribed with our doctor when we got home. The doctor was spot on.

I would not recommend walking around alone at night on Tulum Ave.

Our guide was very informative and passionate about the knowledge he was sharing. I loved the Mayan Ruins! the knowledge the Mayans had, how did we ever abandon their perfection?

beautiful place to visit, nice beach. one tip for those who traveling there without already organised trip, the people before entrance is offering free maps and snorkling. don't stop on first offer, you can get more and cheaper offers if you just go further.
