We have just returned from Crown Paradise Club with kids 14 months old and 4 1/2 old. They have blast.

It is not luxury resort but it is great place for families with small kids up to 10-12 years old until they rebuild teenage pool area.
Beware if you are beach lover, they are rebuilding beach on the whole Caribbean coast stretch and it could be closed for a few weeks now.
Rooms: Nice and clean, I would say all have ocean view. You can get wooden cribs and small refrigerator for free if you ask.. They get noisy if it gets windy. Windows are not sealed properly.
Rooms with two last numbers between 30-40 tend to be very loud no matter how high you are staying as they are above bar area with live music every night. We asked to be moved to other room as it was pretty loud till 1-2 AM..
Rooms with two last numbers 01-10 were on the other side of the hotel with view on the ocean through teenage construction area are much quieter. See picture from our room. No view on the main pool. There are TVs, safes in every room. You will get key to the safe first day. $50 fee if you loose it.
Baby-sitting is available for $10 up to two kids, more for more kids.
Kids 18-36 month can stay in the big room with toys and cribs from 9-9. There is staff present all the time and they run every hour some kind of activity for kids. From 1-3 PM you could leave your kids for nap time if they stay with alien people.
Kids older 4-12 can stay in the Kids Center area from 9-5: Pool with tubes, pirate ship. Our 4 1/2 old enjoyed it very much. However, for kids older than 9-10 it is to boring possibly. It is completely enclosed are so kids stay under care of staff and they can not leave on your own. Every hour there is activity. Noon time is lunch time. They show them movies every day. You can leave your child for whole day or just 20 minutes.
After 5 PM there are more activities in the other area with games, disco music around 7 or 8PM

Main swimming pool has some very shallow area where toddlers can enjoy playing with water. See picture
It is a place with main action by the entertainment staff. Yoga around 9AM, water polo, basketball, water aerobic around 12, bingo, trivia games. If there is enough people it is where fun is.
Water in the ocean is warmer than in the swimming pools unless it is sunny hot day.

Three A la carte restaurants are open. Each day two of them. Kids are welcome. So far no reservations were required as there were not many people in the resort. We just showed up at the door. However last day as more people arrived we had to wait up to 40 minutes for our table. This could be an issue or they will switch to reservation day before. We came around 7PM, the busiest time. Restaurants serve a pretty good food.
I think it is worthy to visit them instead of using only buffet restaurant. One is seafood, steak house ( be careful with ribs), Mexican with live music. Reef whole fish was my favorite as the seafood was better prepared than other meat. There also Japanese restaurant open during a day. We ate sushi, rolls, sashimi and and we survived. It is not first rate food but it was OK.

If you like playing tennis there is one rec. team member Rodrigo who plays well. He can arrange to bring his own racquets as resort ones are pretty bad. You can also play basketball or other game on the asphalt.
Included in the stay is also rental of kayaks and other water vehicles. You can take 10 min. ride to the Aqua Place, and rent them on the lagoon side.
I also recommend evening shows 9PM, every night if your kids survive so long. Some numbers were really good and our kids wanted to see them every night.
Enjoy your stay.

We returned for our third stay at CPC, a bit concerned about what we might find post-Wilma. We knew that three restaurants were closed, and the entire south tower was under renovation. We pulled up, and the usually bustling lobby was nearly empty. My wife and I looked at each other, sighed, and checked in, a bit nervous. Later that day, by the pool. we realized why we came back. The staff. The entertainment staff- Eli, Rodrigo, Santiago, Enrique, the amazing Sarah and the terminally Happy Helen all proceeded to once again show us the best week of our year. Minor issues with our room were promptly addressed. The service at the remaining restaurants on site was terrific, and the menus were varied enough that even three dinners at one restaurant contained variety. The bartenders, well...keep pourin'. Tours which usually would be crowded were not. Much of Cancun is not open yet, four of the malls, many of the restaurants, etc. but in some respects it is an excellent time to visit. Much less crowded, no jockeying for dinner reservations or sunny pool chairs. Certainly there are issues. The beach at CPC, never especially wide, is quite eroded. A good time for sandcastles and shelling, but not for swimming. Even the public Playa Delfinas a short walk north is largely gone. Three onsite restaurants are not open yet. The biggest issue involves teens, in that the teen club, rock wall, waterslide and beach volleyball court are still under renovstion. An effort is made to involve the teens more in the pool sports like water polo and basketball ( no more tequila volleyball), but if you are bringing teens, you probably will schedule a tour or two off site.
New, improved facilities opened almost daily during our stay, and we are eager to return to the new, remodeled CPC next year. Until then, families, especially with children under 12, this remains THE place to go in Cancun. Give these incredibily industrious people a chance, and they will show you a good time. Honeymooners, go elsewhere.

We just returned last week from a week at the Crown Paradise in Cancun.

We didn't know what to expect in the area because of the hurricane damage, but were pleasantly surprised. It's very obvious how much devastation the people of Cancun have endured, but they have accomplished so much and are still working very hard to restore it to its former beauty.

We have been traveling to Cancun annually for the last 6 years, but this was our first stay at the CPC.
What a great experience it was! We have never had better service or nicer people at any of the resorts we have stayed at. Jorge at the beach bar, Jose(Cuervo)and Fireman (never did find out his real name)at the lobby bar, all of the waiters at the buffet and restaurants, the pool waiters and waitresses, etc. were all amazing! We traveled with 3 little boys, ages 2, 3, & 4, and everyone was wonderful with them.

We knew before we left that there would be parts of the hotel not open, but it didn't matter. The Mexican restaurant, seafood restaurant, buffet, the beach snack bar, and the Japanese beach restaurant all had wonderful food. Even though the beach has lost a lot of its sand, you could still enjoy the sun and beautiful turquoise water and feel the soft sand between your toes.

We are definitely anxious to see the CPC when it gets fully operational and would love to stay there again. I highly recommend it for both children and adults.

never been to mexico before and was recommended this hotel so gave it a go. we had a tropical storm for three days and it never stopped raining once, but we still had a great time. we up graded to a club room and it was wonderful! the view, the room and the maid service was second to none.i consider myself to be a picky eater but the food here was out of this world !!
you are spoilt for choice 24 hours a day with many different diners to choose from. the staff were wonderful and the entertainment very varied. all in all i would book another holiday to the crown paradise club without hesitation.

Stayed for 5 days returning on the 19th of Jan.. This is our 2nd stay in the Crown Paradise. The hotel staff is great, the room was always clean and neat, yes it was a little damp sometimes but there is quite a breeze blowing off the ocean directly into the room and it was rainy on 2 nights. We used the ac one night and it worked perfectly. We ate extremely well, mostly in the buffet restaurant. The food in the poolside restaurant isnt real good but the convenience makes it worth it. The poolside bar was open when we were there.
The big letdown was the beach was pretty much missing, some days theres enough to sit and enjoy the waves and wade, but swimming is a life threatning experience. The width of the beach is maybe a quarter of what it used to be. And about 3 to 5 feet of sand depth is gone so all the big base rock is exposed, and the angle into the water is steep so the waves pretty much pound the rocks, however if you like shells they are plentiful if you are willing to wade a little.
overall the trip was well worth it, Cancun is still beautiful but devastated from the hurricane and workers are everywhere throughout Cancun, but the working part of the hotel (the entire south wing is closed and is being rebuilt)is emaculate and very clean.
The lack of beach however got us to leave the hotel this time and we found some wonderful places to visit.
Also avoid the hotel time share talk, if your not interested in a timeshare then you just waste valuable vacation time. The towels and t-shirts they entice you with can be bought for a song from the locals.
