I had been having some stressful times at home so I decided a short getaway was in order. I have been to Oaxaca four or five times in the last few years so it was my destination of choice. Casa JM turned out to be the perfect choice for lodging.

Jose Manuel, the host, is attentive, polite and extremely helpful. Even for me, a frequent visitor to the city he had a lot of valuable information. When I arrived he showed me the place, where to make coffee in the mornings and where to sip mescal in the evenings (a great terrace with a view of nearby Santo Domingo).

Jose Manuel is extremely helpful without being obtrusive. The place is quiet, clean and well maintained. I had a room on the street side but with the windows closed and wood shutters closed, I might as well have been a good distance from the urban area it was so quiet!

Casa JM is less than two blocks from Templo Santo Domingo and only about 75 feet from one of my favorite places to chill out which is Gourmand Deli and microbrewery.

I have stayed at B&Bs, hotels, and rooms in houses and this has been one of the best so far. I highly recommend it

A clean and comfortable room in a great location. Jose is a very gracious host who makes you feel welcome. The view from the rooftop is terrific, and there are lots of restaurants and cafes close by.
