What a joy. The restaurant is upstairs. Sat at the table overlooking the street. So friendly and intimate. Ordered the Chichilo de res, which is a deliciously dark mole that is thickened with burnt tortilla. It was amazingly refined. My wife had the Mole Costeño de Chicatanas (it was the week of ant season). Equally delicious. Right on Vigil and worthy visiting.

Small restaurant located on the first floor of a small building. Very good simple and authentic Mexican food. Highly recommend.

We went for supper. The mole rojo was terrific, service was good. Wonderful art on the wall. Try to get a window looking down on the street.

This was my favorite meal in Oaxaca City along with the hall of grilled meats in the market. The restaurant is in the 2nd floor of a historic building that has windows looking out onto the street. The woman running the place was sweet and endearing. The food was great and there were parades going by right outside that added to the charming atmosphere. The mole here is great!

This is probably as close as most tourists will get to having a home cooked meal in someone's house on their stay. Small and homey this restaurant did a variety of oaxaca dishes. Lots of mole options on the menu. Dishes were good portions and delicious.
