in the middle of the heart of the city, this typical restaurant offer the most delightful delicacy to eat in DF and that is chiles es nogada, which are hard to find because the nogada its seasonal, but this place has it year round!! love it!

We went to this restaurant based on reputation and reviews. Whether my taste buds went missing or this was just the wrong time to visit, I didn't have the best of experiences. This is not to say that the restaurant is not a good one, just that my experience wasn't so. My starter and main course were were rather bland (difficult to get bland food in Mexico!) with no part worth shouting about and recommending. The service was very mechanical and we had to wait a considerable amount of time for the bill. The restaurant was full of people, and many locals as well, so it probably does do good quality food. But on the experience I had, I was not tempted to go back. I guess everyone has different expectations (and taste buds), therefore please judge this place on your own experiences rather than rely on mine !

WOW. This is the oldest restaurant in Mexico city and you can tell because it is well established in a beautiful historic building and while I visited, at dinner, the pianist and lounge singer made for good entertainment. Top notch service. This is find dining at a very reasonable price. Many traditional dishes are offered.

La Hostería is a very simple but good place to eat non common Mexican food. You’ll find delicious escamoles (ant’s eggs) and you simply cannot miss the Chiles en Nogada. They’re Mexico’s best!!!! And they’re available all year round.
