I have just come back from an 11 day visit to this hotel and can,t praise it enough. Cleanliness, food, service all great. The hotel even put a message under the door to advise of clocks being adjusted for daylight saving. The surrounding area was nice but be wary of the market across from the hotel, as this is a breeding ground for the petty criminal.

It’s our favorite place to hangout. It’s roomy and comfortable with a lot of sitting. The gentlemen were friendly and helpful. We always enjoy their drinks. It’s very close to the Alameda Park and some tourist attractions.

We stopped over in Mexico City on our way to a wedding in Mazatlan to strike a few items off our travel bucket list. This hotel was ideal for what we needed. A nice walk (about half of it thru pedestrian only streets) to the main square (Zocalo) to see the sights. Right across the street from the Alameda Central park which is a pretty park. At night there were street vendors on the streets outside the park which made it quite lively. Lots of restaurants close by, we had the concierge recommend a few and were impressed by them all. We also took a tour to Teotihuacan to see the pyramids, an all day trip, amazing, and a definite must do to experience the history and ancient culture. Rooms were a nice size, comfortable and clean. Bigger hotel with some nice views of the city from higher floors. We used room service once and the food was very good and came quickly. A couple of onsite restaurants and all the amenities you'd expect from a large Hilton hotel, convenience store, souvenir shop, business center, etc.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors have great views over the city.

Really liked this hotel. Things that were good - well equipped gym with dumbbells to 34kg and two calf raise machines, one standing, one seated. Also pool and nice changing area. Bring your gym gear and the goggles.
Rooms were nice and quiet, many others who stayed in low rise hotels locally really were bothered by street noise.
The hotel is opposite the park and a really nice stroll to the historic area. Perfect really, hard to get better in mex city.
The breakfast was good - solid options - good service. And the bar downstairs is nice - cold beer and the cocktails were good my colleague commented.
Negatives - none!

The price is great. The location is right across from the Alameda Centrale park ... so clean and always something going on; and it's walking to the Zona Rosa. The Hilton staff (concierges, checkin, lounge, maids) are all wonderful. The executive lounge is everything it could be, both for breakfast and for drinks and snacks in the evening. But from the other reviews everybody knows these ... so here're some things we found (on this our first visit to MC) that probably everyone knows anyway so I guess that's a suggestion to stop reading.

Immigration: It was fine but it took a lot longer than we thought it would. Could be a couple of A380s from France and China just happened by. Anyway, more than an hour. And they really do collect that part of the form (that it doesn't look like you need to fill out but really do) when you leave the country.

Restaurants: We liked best the Cerveceria across the road. We also took a cab to Au Pied de Cochon in the Intercontinental. You can get a top-drawer French meal there for 25% of the price you'd expect in the US. We read good things about the restaurant in the Hilton (Los Dones?) but every time we went there it looked like we'd be pretty much alone. So we didn't give it a chance. We probably should ... I feel a bit bad about that, it's rated very highly.

Tours: We took several organized tours, to places outside MC. Definitely worth doing, but you'd best be prepared to stop multiple times at places that probably give "commission" to the tour operators. I generally did buy stuff - to be nice, but also the stuff I bought I actually kinda liked which is unusual for me and shopping - but I'd prefer just one (hey, or zero!) such stops. Same thing for lunches, you tend to get told where to eat for presumably for the same reason. It's fine, the food and places were nice. No real complaints. Also: if you book a tour that says you'll get back to your hotel at 6pm, don't count on it.

Tipping: Not sure we did this right, but 100 pesos for a couple spending an hour or two in the executive lounge seemed OK. Remember: "$" means pesos, not USD.

We'll be back to the Reforma. There's a lot to do in this fantastic city, and we just did a little of it.
