“Great Time”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 January 2012

My friend and I went for a weekend stay in Mexico City back in December and stayed at the hotel. The location is excellent, close to where you can get in touch with the mexican life: clubs, tacos mexicanos, shopping and a great view of the Angel de la independencia a few streets from the hotel. the Frontdesk crew was helpful. the Maids always made the room very clean and comfortable all the time.

Room Tip: The top floors are better since there is not much noise from the vehicles early in the morning.

Location Location Location! NH Zona Rosa and is situated next to tons of shopping, trendy and uspscale boutiques, dining, and night life. Room accommodations were great staff spoke English and were helpful. Service is excellent several long term employees at this hotel. I've stayed here in the past and it was nice to see some of the previous faces. Police on every other street corner. I felt more safe here then my own neighborhood.

Room Tip: Book a superior room or higher. All rooms include free gym access which is on the 15th floor. AMAZIN...

NH has a very good location in Mexico City close to the "Angel" statue on Reforma. Can walk to many places. Located in Zona Rosa the hotel is in a safe area.

Room Tip: You may want to select a higher room not facing the street. The streets are very noisy inthe evening...

What a shame that their shoddy service and stupid rules take this from a potential 4 or 5 to a 1 or 2. The rooms without doubt are nicer than the Camino Real and Hilton in Terminal 1, but the service is not in keeping with the steep $185 per night charge. First, we tried to check in at 3 pm to be encountered by two clerks talking to one another and ignoring us...once they did tend to us, there was no smile or greeting. And they claimed they did not have our reservation, though we had a confirmed number from 10 days prior, and marched into a back room where they did not emerge for 10 minutes saying that a manager is looking into it. Finally, 20 minutes later, we got a room. NH here insists that you check out in person because they are worried about their stupid in-room locked mini-bar, of which we didn't even take a key for. So you wind up in a line having to check out, adding anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes you did not expect when you had intended to rush down to the terminal and start the laborious, inhumane check-in process for a flight. Most hotels simply slip the bill under your door at 4 am and if they find you took a precious beer out of their mini bar, they add it to the account on record. So should NH.

Room Tip: Pray. Even confirmed reservation is ignored.
