Wonderful environment and great decoration is the great mark of this restaurant. The plates are very well presented with special, design and prepared with some great Mexican ingredients. It is a place where you will find good options, different types of food, with fish, meat or sea food. Service is also good and there are great tequila and exotic drinks.

I had high expectations of this place since it is part of so many "best restaurants" lists. I was a little disappointed. The place needs some maintenance. Service is good. Food is overpriced, with great flavor but missing some details to make it special or unique. They have a couple of dishes with pork belly but what we received was a dry pork chop. Lamb was also dry and tasteless. Not worth the price at all, a shame.

We picked Sud 777 for dinner being listed #11 in LatinAmerica 2016 Best Restaurants, and went there for the tasting menu with wine pairing.

The place is 25 min away by car from Mexico City center in a day with no traffic, so it is worth to plan day and time to do the trip as traffic can get very intense and escalate to 1 hour easily.

The place is awesome, 3 stories high house, beautifully decorated on wood and house furniture, comfortable tables and seating couches, with good space between them. Dimmed lights without getting to the point of being to dark.

Service is very kind, respectful and very professional knowing all aspects in the menu, just a few glitches on timing like bringing food before the pairing in a couple of steps.

We had Mojitos for starters witch was perfect, full of fresh mint, great liquor and did not felt a single grain of sugar. After dinner, we went to the bar on a separate space and could corroborate the quality and diversity of the drinks, and the barman was a real professional.

On the food, with regret, there were inconsistencies. The salmon roe was good but no surprise at all; instead for second an amuse-bouche based on avocado which was great on diversity of textures, and flavors. Then a chicken stock with some mussels which was a little disappointing, some of mussels not cleaned properly having still the 'Beard'.

The main dishes were great, a first with fish, very fresh, perfectly cooked, diverse in textures, same for the braised short rib main, both up to the level expected and blended with Mexican local sauces, spice-level just perfect in both.

For desserts, started with the lime mousse which was a nice surprise, then strawberry and granita, and finished with an interpretation of a local Mexican dessert witch also surprised on flavors.

The wine pairing was good all across the tasting, peaking on an exceptional Pinot Noir.

The tasting menu with pairing is certainly not that expensive at least compared to the rest of top 50 restaurants in Mexico (around 80/90 usd).

All in all, setting aside ratings and expectations for a #11, it is definitely a place worth going because of the ambiance, good service and the tasting with wine pairing experience (fair with a 80/90 usd p/p cost) plus you can have a drink after dinner in a very nice bar.

Breakfast is great, they took the salmon frittata out of the menu but you can still ask for it, my favourite!!!
Service is great, not the fastest but unless you are in a hurry it shouldn't be a problem. Went for drinks with friends on a Saturday night and was really cool, note am almost 40 and not really into clubbing any more! Easy to park and feel very safe! It is not cheap but good quality food and service!

The food was good same that service but not outstanding. Very bad thing was that the place was showing : "free of smoke" in the entrance of the restaurant and is a complete lie since we realized that everybody can smoke in the whole place. Is better do not show anything if they are not going to respect the rules.
