We were only in the hotel overnight prior to starting our tour. The hotel staff were polite and helpful with good English. Our room was not large but roomy enough. It was clean and the king size bed was comfortable. The air con was a little noisy throughout the night. The breakfast was nice with a good variety of food. We were able to get a phone card and food near by.

This hotel is well located if you want to enjoy the Historic Mexico City. People is super nice, rooms are clean and the location is safe to walk around in the evenings. It is worth it the value versus the service you get.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms on the Corner street. Traffic start at 6:30 am

This is a hotel that is situated in a wonderful historic building located just 2 blocks from the Zocalo, the Cathedral, Plaza Mayor, National Palace and much more. The interior of the lobby gives a hint of the old world charm of 19th century Mexico, with modern amenities. I would highly recommend this hotel, great staff, great breakfast, 2 great restaurants as well.

My wife and I went for a short holiday to Mexico City, just a couple days before the earthquake. The hotel is great, perfectly groomed and clean, as a hotel should be. It is in a historic building w 5 or 6 floors, elevators faced an open, roofed courtyard the way most Embassy Suites are. Rooms seem to be recently renovated. They have good linen and coverlets, so so drapes & towels, but acceptable. We were given a room with no windows, but it was OK with us, it helped us rest, since we went out every single night.
It comes with a free breakfast buffet, the style you find in most Hampton Inns in the US, but with a Mexican twist. It is OK, not great. Both my wife & I are not great carbs eaters so, our options are limited in these types of breakfast bars, but they do have coffee, teas, eggs and fruits.
Service from Front Desk and Concierge is excellent. Location is terrific. You can walk to many places like Zocalo, Metropolitan Cathedral, Templo Mayor Ruins and the National Palace, also, if you're adventurous, you can walk to two Metro (subway) stations, Zocalo, which is closer, and Pino Suarez. I might say it is safe and convenient during weekends. Uber and cabs, the pink ones, are abundant there.
The hotel has 2 restaurants, a Cafeteria w/mid-range prices, Garabatos, and a seafood restaurant, can't remember the name. But we opted for other options to dine, we actually never ate there, so I cannot say anything about them.

Room Tip: I'd had prefered a room with a view.

There is an entrance which has two steps to get in and no ramp but if you are on a wheelchair they take you from a gate which is beside the hotel probably for their luggage trolleys and you can get in thro ugh that to the hotel lobby ...probably the room I took was a standard room so it was a small room with higher bed then a normally high bed which is ok with me because I am used to it but for a normal person it would be quite high the room is nice with a shower area and that was a sigh of relief for me because tubs become too difficult for me to take a bath in... but I don't understand at least in hot countries they should have a refrigerator in the room... even for a normal room small refrigerator is a must and especially in a city where it is so hot
