Few weeks ago, a friend from Taiwan decided to visit me in Guadalajara. Because he was here for several weeks, I recommend him to visit Guanajuato, and of course, to be hosted at Casa de Pita. I was there 2 years ago, and I loved it. Also, I thought that it was pretty convinient because he would travel alone and Ms Pita, the owner of the hotel, is such an adorable lady, so, it won't be difficult for him. My thoughts were totaly true. Ms Pita was amazing!!!! She helped him to create the walking tour around Guanajuato, she told him wonderful stories about the city and she even called a taxi driver of her trust in order to deal with the next step of his trip. The nicest thing was that she send me an email asking me if my friend arrived safe. So, it is the only place that the service does not end when you leave the place. I am sure that if you stay at Casa de Pita, you wont only have a nice place to sleep and a wonderful included breakfast, you also will have a new friend in Guanajuato, the wonderful Ms Pita.

My mom and I stayed here for one night in late December. I wish we had had room in our itinerary to spend another night. I booked our room very last minute through email with Pita. She was very quick in responding and offered us the Mexiamora bedroom for 450 pesos (less than $40). It was a very cosy and darling room with a bunk bed. The lower bunk was actually a full size. The room was on the small side, but it had it's own sink and some dishes. The bathroom was also in the room, but up some small stairs. We were not in the main house, but instead were in our own space on a side street just steps from the main house. In the morning we were treated to a complimentary breakfast that included coffee or tea, fruit with granola and yogurt and two little breakfast burritos. A very good deal for the money. And a great location to all of the major sites. I would definitely stay here again.

It was a real plasure to share my visit into a beautiful city with the hospitality that Pita gave to all their guests. She can make you fell as in home. The rooms are pretty, with comfortable, clean and calid atmosphere. The breakfast is always a surprise, with tipical food. And the best of all, the location could not be more perfect. Simply at some steps form all the action, the great places and the beauty of the city. Thanks to Pita. When I came back, I sure go again with her.

Big disappointment. We had a confirmed reservation and called several times while en-route and no one answered. Owner was out of town and granddaughter, who supposedly had responsibility, was nowhere to be found and we were locked out. We were getting desperate and when we were finally about to give up after a 4 hours wait, took dinner in meantime, she finally showed up. Our party was not assigned to rooms booked and we ended up on bunk beads that didn't seem to have been properly prepared. She did try and make amends and gave us a discount off our bill. Ladies who served breakfast did a great job.

For our second visit in 3 years we were very happy again with this lovely casa. Lots of room choices especially for family groups and all with clean bathrooms. Pita is a very friendly hostess and she was very patient with our poor Spanish. Her 2 course breakfasts are amazing. It is a warm introduction to this beautiful city and the location behind the Teatro Principal and only a few minutes walk from Teatra Juarez and the Central Jardin make Casa de Pita an excellent choice of accommodagion in Guanajuato.
