We visited the house where Gene Byron had lived at one time. Her work was displayed throughout the house. Very nice place.

The house and art are definitely worth seeing. The person who showed us around did not attempt to give us much information and only seemed interested in making sure we looked at the clothes she was selling in the gift shop. Her 97 year old husband likes to hang out there and chat with visitors.

All the work produced by Gene Byron is impressive, from lanterns to art and furnishings, What made our visit special however was the chance to talk to her 96-year-old husband, a Spanish doctor who lived a fascinating life, from being active in the Spanish Civil War where he knew Norman Bethune and Hemingway to working in Chiapas.
