We visited the Garza Blanca in Puerto Vallarta during our Christmas vacation. This is a very busy time for the resort, however, we were treated to awesome service by some of the most friendly and efficient people in the world. This resort makes you feel like you are visiting family from the second you step foot on the property, when Omar and his staff greet you, until you sadly depart at the end of a marvelous vacation. Marisol, our concierge took great care to make sure we were happy upon arrival and then our butler staff, Yasmine and Jose made all of our wishes come true after that. We enjoyed the new sushi restaurant, Hiroshi, and were served excellently by Jose Luis and his staff. Even my husband who will not eat sushi, loves the sushi here. Afterwards we had awesome cocktails created by Ulysses at the Musai bar. Omar and all his staff, especially Karina, at this bar are awesome! Our favorite server at the Bacados Steak house is Fernando. The grandkids are still talking about Fernando. They tell everyone about him. Our pool service was also awesome; thanks to Jose and Juan. Our room was kept immaculate by Lette and our check out was expedited by Allen at the front desk. This resort obviously has the best of the best in PV. Can't wait to go back again!

Airport transfer - confusing as hell. As you're leaving the airport there's a big hallway filled with timeshare hawkers, unfortunately some of them have badges with "Garza Blanca" on them so you think they can help you along your way- Nope they just want to book you for a timeshare tour
Sure they give you a shot of tequila but other than that they don't want to help you get your ride

Checkin - it's hard to focus on checking-in in the open air lobby over looking to pool, beach and ocean. Check in was simple. Got our all inclusive bracelets and then were brought to our room.

On the check in desk there was an activity guide that I grabbed to plan our trip

The room-
Breathtaking. The hammock on the balcony is incredible. Makes you never want to leave.

Our first meal was Snacks at Azul
Pretty good, great location listening to the waves break

Headed back to the concierge to book the kayaking and snorkeling tour in the morning, apparently they can't book any of the hotel sponsored activities after 4:30, weird
I was a little disappointed but just planned on going back in the morning on the way to breakfast

Room service for dinner so we could just relax and enjoy the room

Tuesday
Went to concierge to book the kayaking tour for Wednesday, it was fully booked.
Instead booked the tequila tasting for Thursday.

Timeshare tour - as annoying as trying to be sold the timeshare was I'm very glad we took the tour because if we hadn't we would have never known anything about the upper part of the resort/preserve and the other restaurants
Included breakfast at Bacados STK and it was great, definitely try the green juice

Lunch at Blanca Blue - great view with great food

Birdwatching- Tito!!! The best employee at the whole resort. He took us on the bird watching tour and he was so excited to show us around. His enthusiasm is contagious

Dinner we went into town to meet local friends at Si Senor

Wednesday - Mariettas Island excusrion

Turtle releasing at the beach - This is the best thing and its included.

Dinner at Boca Dos Stk - Simply Amazing!!!!

Thursday - breakfast at Blanca Blue, great Buffett

Hike with Tito - this hike was listed as "intermediate" I would disagree, it was advanced and I loved it

Lunch at Boca Dos Stk

Puerto Vallarta Zoo- just down the street from the resort and its pretty nice, you can pay extra to hold baby lions

Dinner at Hiroshi- even though the form when you get at checking says it's not included they said there was a special promotion and it would be included
Omg!!!! From the Welcome Drink to the personalized service, everything exceed expectation.

Blanca Blue - ok so we were being greedy and having 2 dinners but we were told there would be mariachi so we booked both

Friday

Breakfast at Blanca

Pool and ocean until checkout
Luckily they have a Shower room by the lobby so you can take a quick shower before your flight.

Spent a week at this beautiful resort. The 2 bedroom condo for the 4 of us was incredibly spacious and very comfortable. Great views from the balcony. We would like to give a shout out to 2 employees. Oswaldo could not do enough for us at our pool. He is a very hard worker and always made sure we had everything we needed. We are very grateful Oswaldo!
Unfortunately, on our last day, there was a confusion about our taxi to the airport. No one seemed to care that we could miss our flight, no one was rushing to help us EXCEPT for Carlos! He was our night in shining armor ... He made sure to find us a van as quickly as he could....with no help from his fellow staff. Thank you Carlos!
The only other negative was having to pay for wifi per iPad/phone/computer. That adds up pretty quick and with 4 of us makes a nice chunk of $ for the hotel.

Room tip: Tower 4 & 5 and the Hotel Mousai are up the hill a bit but very convenient. All rooms seem to have balcony overlooking beach/ocean.

Just got back from a lovely 4 day stay at the Garza Blanca. Overall, a nice resort and I will get to the positives shortly. However, I have to start with seating at the pool, which put a damper on the stay. In short, the resort was near capacity and there weren't enough chairs in the "good" locations around the pool. This didn't impact my family, as we are early risers and were always able to get chairs. However, there are about 12 retired couples who are staying at the resort for 4 weeks and they act like they own the place. They literally yell at you (and the hotel staff) if someone is sitting in a seat they normally sit in. To reiterate, even if you get to the pool early and are actually sitting in your chair, these couple raise heck because "they've been sitting in this location for weeks." I saw 4 separate arguments during my stay. One elderly man actually confronted a woman who was sitting where he normally does, pointing his finger at her and challenging her to "take the first punch." Oh my goodness! The hotel staff simply must get control of the situation. They have let these couples take over the pool and it makes it uncomfortable for the remaining guests.

On a brighter note, the rest of our stay was lovely. Upon check in we of course had a room mixup, which other reviewers have noted. However, Diana (thank goodness for Diana!) resolved the issue by upgrading us. Hard to complain about the room mixup when the result is an upgrade. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is very good, especially at the steak house. The food and drink are also very reasonable priced. I would go so far as to say it is cheap. For example, we had 3 beers and 2 non-alcoholic smoothies one afternoon and the cost was 15 dollars.

The rooms are gorgeous. Very large, with excellent views. The pool, with the exception of the chair disaster, is very nice. Views throughout the property were spectacular.

All in all, a nice resort, worthy of 4 stars. However, because the resort is not handling the pool chair situation well, I have to knock it down to 3 stars.

We have been visiting Mexico yearly for nine years and this is now our new favorite! The scenery/terrain is spectacular! Accommodations are excellent - as are the restaurants and service! Activities of all types are available and we enjoyed hiking, kayaking, etc! Sandwiched between the beach and mountains it is a great experience and we already have a date for next year. Check out the 5 Diamond Hotel Mousai on the property as well.

Room tip: You can choose mountain view or beach view.
