Awesome midcentury modern hotel. You can enjoy a great weekend here and forget about the world. Rooms are very comfortable and great ocean views. We enjoyed their dock and swam in the ocean, kayaking at rimes swimming all day in the great salty water with perfect temperature in Acapulco. The restaurant is super slow and could be enhanced but it is ok. Although we will go out for dinner.

My friend and I stumbled upon Boca Chica by accident while swimming at Caleta Beach, and quickly switched from our previous hotel to Boca Chica after getting a tour of the facilities by lovely staff member Paola. Here's what we loved about it:

The simple but elegant (while unpretentious) design and feel of the place. The way one whole wall of our room was dedicated to an ocean view. The inclusion of access to Japanese inspired hot tubs and a steam room that also give a great view of the ocean in our room price. Swimming access from the hotel to a quiet and safe stretch of ocean that allowed us to bypass the throngs of tourists and screaming kids on the beach nearby (it was the New Year season, so all the public beaches were packed to the point of being difficult to even walk in). Free use of the hotels snorkels, fins, kayaks, and standing paddle board (we enjoyed kayaking to Roqueta Island, and I loved being able to try a standing paddle board for the first time). The cucumber martinis at the bar. The chili ancho/cinnamon/chocolate flavored liqueur in the mini bar. The comfortable bed. The chic black hammock on our balcony. The thatched dining area that gives you a view of the ocean and fresh air.

Yes, their wifi access could be better, and yes, a few staff members around the pool and in the restaurant/bar area could be more attentive and quicker to guests, as other reviewers have pointed out, but we enjoyed the hotel so much that we could overlook these things.

Truly, Boca Chica is a lovely gem in Acapulco! Read up about its history since the 1950s before you go, and you can appreciate it even more.

This beautiful and remodeled 50's hotel, that could easily be the set for a Mad Men episode, offers great views to the Roqueta island, a relaxing space with the sound of the waves breaking onto it's rocky foundation and delicious japanese cuisine inspired dishes.

Plus, this hotel is the only 100% pet friendly hotel in Acapulco - that's right, 100% pet friendly! That means no 10 kilograms weight limit and no extra fees for your pet sharing the room with you.

First of all, no..I am not on anything right now, my dog does not speak (unfortunately) but if she did she for sure would be telling me she had the best time ever. This is the ONLY hotel that is really pet friendly in Acapulco. There are two other hotels (same Int'l chain) around the Diamante area that are "pet friendly" but that have a 10kg limit (22lb). In my opinion, a dog lighter than 20lbs is really a cat, so my point is: You can't take your dog there!! Those two guys should stop pretending they are pet friendly! I have an Akita Inu and I wanted to surprise my wife for her birthday AND take the dog with us. This was THE perfect place. The dog is allowed to be with you anywhere you go except for inside the pool so you can be with her around the pool, in the restaurant, in your room, great stuff. There were a couple of other dogs so she also had a chance to have a little bit of fun.

Rooms are very nice, very "designy" in nature, the pool is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view, the restaurant has good japanese food (try the Sake Mojito!), and the staff is courteous and welcoming without harassing you every 2 seconds asking if you want to bulge up your tab like other ACA spots. We were there for just a weekend and had a great relaxing time. The area around the hotel is not trendy or somewhere were you would want to take a stroll, so you definitely have to be prepared to stay in or to drive up to any other places where you would like to go for dinner (like La Isla Shopping Center, etc). But do not be deterred by that fact, stay in, relax, and take it easy.

Room tip: Garden level - Great for easy access to peeing (dog, not you)

This hotel belongs to the famous Mexican boutique/design hotels grupo Habita. Their design is always a beauty, but when it comes to the experience, they come out short.

The rooms are spacious and clean, plus the AC works. I give u that. The amenities changed from a Malin + Goetz line to a Dr.Brommers, to a Mexican honey concoction used mainly by the Riviera Maya Hotels. TV cable system has no good channels, but if u were visiting w your kids, beware, cause one of those is the HUSTLER channel, and it's open. So full on porn there...

The wi-fi never works. They don't seem to wanna spend in routers or good service. Plus if they are so designy they should switch to appletv or at least buy that cable that connects a computer to the monitor...
Instead, they have an old iPhone pod to connect to some cable to make ur music sound on TV... (Outdated)

The location is not great, but they could still make u stay all weekend long in there, if it wasn't for the hideous service at their restaurant and pool area. The waiters and kitchen don't seem to care about time, or appearances. They take forever, mix tables and accounts and forget about certain orders. The nice Asian fusion food they used to serve is now some gross mess with algae... They don't seem to have a manager on board.

Also, u pay to go to the beach, or a beach club but as we came in, we realized there was no such thing cause that area had been destroyed by recent hurricanes, but no one told us about this, so, no beach either.

If u really want service, and wish to get pampered, this is def not the place. It's too pretentious, and not worth the price.
