This is really a up market back packers place. I had a superior room, asked for double bed this room only comes with twin. Room had no SAFE and Don't forget to bring coffee/tea making facility's nothing supplied. Bedding clean, shower was limited but ok. TV only had Thai and a few German channels. WiFi good, Breakfast ok but ate outside most of my stay, pool ok but only two loungers with no cushions. Staff have limited English but are helpful. Resort is a 10 min walk into town not good if your old or have limited mobility.(steep hill)
Ao Nang it's self is a bit of a dump wouldn't dream of swimming in the sea opposite the Main Street loads of rubbish all over the place. Don't believe the signs that say tourist info they only want to get you onto a trip. Best food was street hawkers at bottom of road, and a shed about 50yards before you come to main junction. Ao Nang has had its day I'm afraid.

If you are looking for the place near the beach, blue village is not the one. It might take around 15 minutes by walk. Anyway, the resort provides the transport to the main street area.

The room was clean enough. The fridge and 2 bottles of drinking water was provided. Personally, I didn't like their bathroom as the floor didn't cover with tile. The bathroom had concrete floor. So, my feet got some sand or dust after using bathroom. Also, there were few steps at the bathroom.

Outside the room, there were a lot of plants making good atmosphere. Each room had terrace so we could spend time to lay down and relax.

This is a really nice resort/bungalow complex about a 10 minute walk from the main street of Ao Nang. It's just up the hill, but easily walkable to the beach and all restaurants in town (I think they also have a shuttle service, but we never used it - just walked). The bungalows are wonderful - very clean, spacious, with excellent bathrooms and daily towel change and bed-making, all for a very reasonable price!! Our bungalow felt very private, and we didn't really notice the other people staying there. It's true that the place doesn't have much atmosphere, but if you are looking for a private, quiet place to stay, this is terrific for it! They serve free breakfast (standard fried eggs and sausage every day, so if you need a change of pace, go into Ao Nang for breakfast), and they are very accomodating about serving you early (I did dive trips two days, and Blue Village served me breakfast at 7 a.m. so that I could eat before I left). They were also very helpful with any requests we made, so if you need something, just ask! There is free wifi which sometimes worked in our bungalow, although I usually went to the office to get its full power.

Great place overall, very friendly people, clean and wonderful service, and terrific prices!

We spent 6 nights in blue Vilage and loved it, especially because we had the impression there were no other guests at the time! The garden is really beautiful, the bungalows are equipped with a fridge (with all the drinks in it being free, that means no "mini bar" bill at the end of your stay) and a safe. The room was very clean and the bathroom too, although it had a concrete floor. The WiFi worked well, but could have been more powerful. The swimming pool was great.
Our bungalow had a terrace (they all do) which was very useful to dry out clothes and chill out in the evening.
The staff was nice, but not very communicative, but they have two dogs, very friendly of course, so that helped breaking the ice.
The only downside in this place was the breakfast (if you're not into bacon and sausage, it gets a bit boring). Coffee was not good!
Ao nang is a typical beach resort and the main street of full of those horrible restaurants for tourists and it's a much better idea to head in the opposite direction from the town when you go out of the hotel. You'll find family run tatty restaurants where no one understand what you say, but it's so much fun, tastier and cheaper!
Ao nang beach is not great, better to rent a scooter and travel around.
I would recommend Blue Village, but not Ao nang.

Blue Village by Chanintra in Ao Nang is about 10 minutes walk from the main beach-front strip of shops (restaurants, souvenir stalls, tourist offices, etc.). We generally got a free lift into town by the hotel (who were always willing to immediately take us) and then walked back - the road is a dirt road with jungle on most of one side and hotels on the other. So if you can't afford to book into a beachfront property or a place with ocean views, then it's quite a decent location.

The bungalows themselves are fairly basic, lacking a bit of charm on the inside but have character on the outside. They are clean enough and the batrooms are basic but fine, including hot water. They have a good sized swimming pool which is quite pleasant. They also offer free internet in a separate building.

The staff seem shy, but are friendly and helpful whenever you ask for anything. I've always said TripAdvisor should include a rating category for "Atmosphere", because this is where so many of the big chain hotels don't succeed. This hotel seems to lack a bit of atmosphere (we were there at the start of April, which is still considered high-season) - I think mainly because the communal dining area is far removed from the pool and is uninviting, plus the hosts are really nice, really honest good people, but shy and reserved. Overall, I'd return here given the price of better hotels in Ao Nang.
