Hi pipsgreenhouse,
Thank you for your visit to our restaurant.
I am sorry you were not impressed with your experience.
The Western food was decent, you had a good night and it all happened in a nice atmosphere...
No explanation what you had or what was wrong with it.
The only thing that was a problem for you was the price.
I know at the moment it is low season; the rooms are cheap, the tours are discounted and some restaurants offer discounts.
Do we need to drop our prices also because the others give discount on their high (profit) margins? I don't believe so.
We still want to be able to purchase the best quality ingredients available, give our staff a decent salary, bonus, holiday money.
Also we (in contrary to many local businesses) do pay taxes; so the government can use it to improve the infrastructure, education, healthcare etc)
Also do we give a complimentary starter plate, salad, cool-towels and maybe a shot of liquor after the dinner.
We also do support some charity events for education & environment.
These things cost money, we are not a charity organisation.
Imagine you would come back home from your holiday and your boss says; " you work good, you are pleasant to have around, but we will replace you with someone who does your work for 25% cheaper, we don't have to pay her the basic salary, no holiday money, if she gets sick or pregnant we don't have to pay etc etc"
Then you would probably disagree....
I understand you are from England; a year ago your pound had 20% more value, should we give discount to people whose currency has dropped over the last year for specific reason???
In May and June we always get some complaints about the price; everything is good but somehow people expect to get it for free.
In high season our guests find our prices more than reasonable, cheaper as in their home country they write.
Hope that you had a great holiday, but looking at your other reviews, Krabi was not your spot,
Regards,
Gidi Mevissen
